Those are the easy fixes for these often unavoidable houseplant travails. But anthuriums may come up against two ailments that are more difficult to contend with: Leaf blight and root rot. Either condition may destroy the plants entirely. Propagating an Anthurium plant is quite easy to do. An easier way to raise humidity is to cover your plant with a glass or plastic dome. This dome will trap the humidity around your plant and mimic the tropical environment of the rainforest it naturally grows in. Most anthurium varieties bloom last for an impressive 2 to 3 months and can repeat throughout the year, making it a very valuable houseplant. The blooms are followed by juicy berries of many colors, depending on the variety. These usually contain seeds. Most anthuriums thrive on humidity, but the flowering varieties can tolerate more dryness. If your humidity level is less than 50%, then consider using a humidifier to increase the level to at least 60%. Filling small trays with pebbles and water and grouping indoor plants together can slightly increase the humidity immediately surrounding your plants.
