About this deal

I can’t believe that the day is finally here where LEGO has somehow resurrected the Lord of the Rings theme. The setting would lend itself perfectly to the entire Fellowship of the Ring, along with the likes of Elrond, Arwen and Bilbo Baggins.

While I appreciate the effort to diversify the offerings of each set, I would probably put Sam, Frodo, And Bill (excellent pony by the way) together, then Merry, Pippin, and Boromir, and then either pairs of Aragorn with Gandalf and Gimli with Legolas, or just those four all together. for 6 brickheads is too much, but hopefully if we support this wave of sets it sends a message that this theme is much missed. Gollum, while copping a lot of hate for his naked baby look isn’t too bad, however I really think there was a missed opportunity to include a printed tile for his signature toothy mouth. Gollum, at this stage was fully consumed by his lust and desire for the One Ring, and stalked the Fellowship in the hopes of reclaiming it.Then you can also just look from the perspective of how much the piece/rare value you can get from this set. This Balrog Brickheadz is HUGE, thanks to its wingspan and height, and really nails the “flame and shadow” look.

LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, DUPLO, the FRIENDS logo, the MINIFIGURES logo, DREAMZzz, NINJAGO, VIDIYO and MINDSTORMS are trademarks of the LEGO Group.

For pairings, it makes sense, and I also like that we get coronation versions of both characters, which we’ve not gotten before in LEGO sets, which give it a bit of a fresh take on both characters.

The Frodo Brickheadz is masterfully designed, using colours to effectively convey and identify Frodo. LEGO has published the product listings for the upcoming LEGO Lord of the Rings BrickHeadz that are set to be released on Jaunary 1. From its angular face and horns to the various flames licking across its body, it is a really menacing character to look at. Features a full-size LEGO BrickHeadz Frodo figure with a sword and ring element and a smaller model of Gollum with a fish element. Very true to the Brickheadz concept with some great custom prints and really nice shaping (especially on the beards).Fun fact, the crown he’s wearing during coronation features the same design as the crown worn by Isildur in the War of the Last Alliance. The Balrog also breaks barriers by one of the largest Brickheadz models yet, and makes amazing use of its wings, and horns, as well as the colours for a highly effective design. Brickset, the Brickset logo and all content not covered by The LEGO Group's copyright is, unless otherwise stated, ©1997-2024 Brickset ltd. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. Not only is he smaller scale, but his only distinguishing characteristics are a few printed 1×3 tiles around the top of his head.

First up, the packaging for the LEGO Lord of the Rings Brickheadz are incredible, and they feel fresh and familiar all at the same time. Hobbit figures that are exactly the same aside from a lock of hair here and there, just done in different colours and are identifiable through a different decorated 2x4 tile on the front. Here’s a look at Gandalf’s back, where he has a grey cloak, and more of that incredible hair texture, as well as a pointy wizard hat. Here’s hoping these do really well and send a signal to LEGO that we do really want more LEGO Lord of the Rings. I happen to like Brickheadz, and have a fairly decent-sized collection, and LEGO Lord of the Rings is one of my favourite themes of all time, so these are absolutely up my alley.

The character is mainly portrayed in his Fellowship outfit, but for this set, he’s sporting his royal robes.
