The Garden Vac 2700 is a powerful 4-in-1 electric garden vacuum that makes cleaning leaves form your garden quick and easy shredding leaves as they are collected. I don't know where the problem sits - maybe it's inbuilt obsolescence - but none of mine have lasted much beyond two or three seasons.

Please help - I am wondering why a well known garden vac manufacturer provides such flimsy collection bags that develop holes after very few uses, very very few. However the difficulty is fastening the bag to its frame - there are small pieces of plastic which need to be inserted into a narrow gap on the frame.Finally, I concluded that the little blade that you clip inside the unit which, like a conventional flymo (it comes with 2 blades one being a spare), was of no use because the Wysteria petals were already small. I had an original GardenVac which worked very well, - until it fell over and smashed the case beyond repair. We found the assembly of the bag a little difficult as a crease in fold kept the bag popping out of the lip but once smoothed out it all went together more easily. I looked at the more modern versions of this leaf and garden blower and vac but decided to go for the 4 in one 270w version as it had served me so well for many years amd bacause the leaf shredding function is optionsl and not a built in permanent function. There is a newer 3000 model available but the vacuum chute seemed quite narrow and I thought it would be more susceptible to blockages.Once properly attached, the vacuum works well and I particularly like the shredder blade which rotates at high speed, making light work of the contents. When vacuuming, the angle of attack of the head to the target is critical, otherwise the loose leaf just stays there. The next thing I found was that the little wheel at the front meant that I had to hold the vac at a near vertical angle to get the nozzle close enough to the ground to suck up anything, so that went next. I can see this unit becoming a permanent resident in my garage or (most probably) featuring in a car boot sale. The holding bag has a collection capacity of 40 litres and attaches underneath the GardenVac, but it needs some dexterity to clip it on - if it’s not done correctly the vac won’t work. One other point though, I cannot believe how few shredder lines are supplied with the product or the exorbitant cost of the spares.when it finally gave up the ghost I replaced it with a modern through the fan type, from a leading diy company. I had one of these products for five years and liked it because the bag does not have a zip and lasts much longer without needing to replace it.
