About this deal

While it’s easy to find several brands of this liqueur in stores, making your own creme de cacao is just as simple.

We say: This shaken recipe includes orange juice and this gives the otherwise anaemic looking drink its namesake golden hue. The addition of orange bitters helps balance the drink and boost the orange flavour.

Creme de cacao is one of the oldest known liqueurs, originating in France in the late 16th century. Despite its name, it contains no cream. The “creme” refers to its smooth, syrupy texture due to its high sugar content. Chocolate Liqueur – Many wonder if creme de cacao is the same as chocolate liqueur. Though crème de cacao is often mistaken for chocolate liqueur, the two have subtle differences in terms of flavor and consistency. Chocolate liqueur like Godiva is a bit sweeter and more syrupy because of its cream and chocolate ingredients. It also makes for a great substitute for creme de cacao in baked goods. White creme de cacao is sweet, with a strong milk chocolate flavor and vanilla notes. The dark variety is sweet with a richer, dark chocolate flavor.

Maison Briottet maintains a very high level of quality. It is the selection of the ripest fruit, locally sourced where possible, from the most suitable cultivars that provides for the finest flavours. The first step on the ladder in the process is contracting the right growers to produce the finest, best quality, ripe fruit. Then, at the headquarters, the fruits undergo carefully observed maceration with very pure neutral alcohol and blending with the correct proportion of sugars to achieve the balance between fruit flavour, sweetness, acidity and alcohol to create top of the range crèmes and liqueurs.

Creme de cacao is a sweet, chocolate-flavored liqueur made from cocoa beans. It’s typically blended with whiskey or vodka. Non-Alcoholic Chocolate Flavoring – When using this alternative, remember to add heavy cream to the chocolate flavoring until the consistency is akin to that of liqueur . We say: Scotch soured with lime (works better than lemon) and sweetened with a touch of chocolate liqueur.Let the flavors develop. Store it in a cool, dark place for at least 2 weeks. Gently shake the container every day. Creme de cacao , pronounced as “krehm deuh kah-KAH-oh”, is a chocolate-flavored liqueur primarily made of cocoa beans and vodka and often scented with vanilla. Contrary to popular belief, this liqueur doesn’t contain cream or any dairy products. The “creme” is actually alluding to the liqueur’s rich syrup-like consistency due to its high sugar content.
