About this deal

The “mini” and “square” sizes are the most popular, and we especially like the mini for making images that are ideal to keep in our wallet. We have a handful of snaps printed from the Mini Link 2 that we keep with us wherever we go, but this versatile image size is also great for a scrapbook or for pinning up on your fridge using magnets. If you link your social media account to your HP app and connect your phone to the printer via Bluetooth, then you can easily print photos from your social media accounts. The printer also supports connection to multiple mobile devices at once. Hence, you and your friends can connect to the printer and print your favorite photos till you run out of toner. The colours and retro reproduction from the Instax printers are our favourites in general, and we’re less sure about the Zink printer options available on the market. This, however, uses a slightly different approach that sets it apart. Overall, if you're a particular fan of Instax prints and want a fun and easy to use product, it's very good at what it does - but it doesn't come cheap. Digital cameras and smartphones mean you can view your photos on a screen immediately after the photo is taken. Instant photo printing means you can get a hard copy of those photos within a short period of taking the photo.

You can operate the Fujifilm Instax Mini Link smartphone printer via a free smartphone app for iOS or Android, with the printer connecting to your phone via Bluetooth. One final printing mode is 'video print', which allows you to extract a frame from a video (or Live Photo) stored on your phone. The exterior is molded plastic, which is standard fare for modern electronics. It features curved lines and lots of ridges. You can buy the printer in your choice of Clay White, Soft Pink, or Space Blue; we received the Space Blue version for evaluation. As such, you shouldn't expect perfect colours and bags of detail. On the whole, colours are generally pretty vibrant, with some colours perhaps displayed a bit better than others. It’s easy to get intensely serious about photographic kit and technique but, sometimes, photography should just be fun," says our own Matthew Richards. "There’s certainly a lot to be had with the Instax Mini LiPlay. It continues the decades-old tradition of truly instant photography, where you can take and share pictures anywhere and everywhere, capturing and preserving treasured memories on the fly."Images can also be sent directly from your digital camera straight to the Mini Link 2 printer using Bluetooth, but only if you own a Fujifilm X-S10. For other digital camera devices you'll need to first send images from your camera to your smartphone using a compatible app, recommended by the camera manufacturer, and then print them via the Instax app selected from your smartphone gallery. After editing your photos with the Smile App, you can choose to print them, save them on your device, or upload them to your social media accounts instantly. The Fujifilm Instax Mini Link Smartphone Printer is a great option to easily print your photos from your mobile phone or tablet. You can connect to the printer via Bluetooth and this helps you remove the hassles of carrying extra wires along with you on your trip. The printer’s use of Wi-Fi as the connectivity technology means you get a more reliable wireless connection when compared to Bluetooth printers. You also don’t have to worry about having any entangled wires or forgetting your printing cable at home when you need it the most. All you need to do is to switch on your printer, toggle on your mobile device’s Wi-Fi, connect to the printer, and you’re ready to print. You of course have to put the required paper in the printer. If you want a mobile laser printer you can use to print photos directly from your smartphone, go for the Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 Mobile Printer. This printer lets you create Instax photos by sending images from your smartphones and tablets to your printers. You can do this via the free share app.

You can connect the printer to computers and smartphones through USB or Bluetooth, but since there's no Wi-Fi connectivity, you can't use Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria, and other connection that rely on Wi-Fi. Most of the portable photo printers you’ll find also produce images that are pretty tiny so they can remain compact and portable to bring with you on your travels. Aside from being lightweight, portable, great for parties and travel friendly, the Instax Mini Link 2 is designed to feel comfortable in hand, with no stand included with this portable printer as came enclosed as a crucial in-box accessory with the heavier Instax Link Wide printer.HP's Tango X is a wireless printer with unique features. This AIO allows you to wirelessly print, copy, and scan from your smartphone, even when you're away from the device. This feature uses a cloud-based, two-way network connection with the companion "HP Smart" app, ensuring a smooth user experience. The printer doesn't offer wired connectivity options (e.g., USB ports). This printer has a trendy pop-open design and a slim profile. Due to its compact design and durable poly resin case, you can easily take it around with you and expect it to serve the purpose for which you bought it - printing. It is rechargeable, so you need not worry about needing to have access to a power outlet whenever you need to print. We’ve enjoyed printing out our top snaps with this model, and it’s super easy to use via the app. It is a bit of a shame that it still charges via the now-outdated Micro USB port rather than USB-C (the newer Mini Evo has transitioned to the newer USB-C connector) but that’s more of a minor downside than a dealbreaker.

Gone are the days when you need a laptop or desktop computer before you can print a document. Improvements in the world of photo technology also mean you no longer have to wait for the conclusion of production work in a photo lab before you can see your photographs.

Print Mode

The party print allows you to connect with up to five friends, who can send photos to your phone which remain hidden until printed out onto the Instax print itself. Both of these options can be quite fun at parties and so on. You'll want to assess the connectivity options. If you want a hassle-free printing experience, use a portable printer that offers wireless connectivity and support for protocols like Apple AirPrint. The Eastman Kodak company is an American corporation that was founded more than a century ago. The company prides itself on its products in the world of photography and printing. It also provides graphic communications and professional services. We like how simple it is to set up and use the Mini Link 2, although it’s a bit of a shame that it recharges via the slower and older Micro USB port rather than the more widespread USB-C connector.

Never used a mini printer before, and are you a little nervous about technology generally? Don't worry: the handy Kodak app for Android makes this printer a breeze to use.By making use of the Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities of this printer you can enjoy printing in seconds: it’s compatible with both iOS and Android via the Bluetooth connection. The best smartphone printers make it easy for you to print directly from your mobile phone. It doesn’t matter if your smartphone runs on android or iOS, as long as it does not run on an ancient version of the OS, it should be able to work with the printer. Connectivity The printing technology in use means you get vibrant photos as the dyes deeply penetrate the paper. A final protective layer protects the photos from water, scratches, and fading. With an average printing speed of 1ppm, you can get a photo printed in just a minute. Hence, it comes in handy in those moments when you need instant photo printing. The KODAK Smile Instant Digital Bluetooth Printer has universal Bluetooth connectivity. Hence, you can use it with your iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and other smart devices that have access to Google Play and the Apple App Store. The Mini Link 2's print quality is fantastic. There are two color spaces, Instax Natural and Rich. Natural is the default and leans toward moderate color saturation and brighter highlights; it's a good choice for darker scenes. Rich pumps the saturation and reins in highlights; I preferred it in testing, especially for images with detail in the highlights, like the scanned Kodachrome 25 slide of a pig statue I shot years ago at a state fair. You have to dive into the menu to change this setting, however; I wish this option was available on the print screen because it's something you may want to change on a per-photo basis. Instax Rich (top) versus Natural (bottom) compared We’d also suggest looking at the battery life of the printer, as it determines how many prints you can make before recharging. Look for printers with long-lasting batteries and consider whether they use standard batteries or rechargeable ones.
