If you were sad before that you can't take your electric guitar with you to camping and play Master of Puppets to other campers this is solution for you :) Simple feature but all you needed (im a demanded guy actually, Tone knob only doesnt satisfy me, minimum must have 3-band EQ. The build and make of this amp is superb. It’s not made out of metal but the darn thing feels sturdy like something we would have played with as kids in the 80s…and I still have toys that survived like this. Personally, I think it’s simplicity makes it look like a mean little machine. I mean it looks like it means business…feels that way too.

BOSS KATANA BASS Amp Series

For its price and size, the Katana Mini offers more than enough. Overall, I’m happy with the features.

And bar a few exceptions ( looking at you VOX!), you can expect average build quality and feel at best. The same applies here, too. There’s nothing better on the market right now in this price range that even remotely interests me. Just but the damn thing…everyone needs one! But you can achieve an effect similar to studio reverb with this delay module – just set the “time” to low and crank “level” up to full. Does the Boss Katana Mini Take Pedals Well? If you need good cleans as a foundation to then add grit, squeals, and all sorts of growls via pedals, the Katana Mini is not the best amp for that purpose. Its cleans are pretty boxy so you won’t get the desired results.

Boss claims that the battery on the Katana Mini lasts for about 7 hours. In my testing batteries lasted 6-8 hours. Well, I believe Boss knew that as well. This is not the amp you want to drop or leave it lying on the stage at your next gig. On the other hand, if you need to boost the already overdriven sound coming out of it and take it to the modern metal territory, then pedals will definitely help. How Long Do Batteries Last in Boss Katana Mini?

All you need to do is set the delay time to zero and crank the level to near-full. Technically, this is a rapid echo that goes on for a long time, but it sounds very similar to reverb. The addition of a basic delay is what makes this amp is nifty to practice with. It gives your tone a little bit more space and makes it that much more pleasing to the ear - especially when you're practicing those Van Halen runs on the Brown channel. From Home To HotelThe Boss Katana-Mini amp has all-analog input circuitry, with multiple gain stages that drive three classic sound settings, giving you the same cascaded gain you’d expect in high-end amp designs. Please Note: The Boss Katana Mini does not come with a mains power supply, the recommended power supply is the RolandPSB-1U.

I have heard a lot about Katana's, so I gave this guy a try when I was looking for a practice amp for a small apartment. I was a great surprise!! I could not be more happy. It has a really nice clear sound, and great volume. But what surprised me it was the overdriven sounds. For low volumes, it truly delivers a nice round warm overdriven sound, that makes you enjoy practicing. Its really simple to use, and even have some on-board effects for even more fun while playing. THE CLEAN CHANNEL and all the channels are excellent in my books! I don’t know what kind of a guitar the reviewers were using but my Fender Player Plus Stratocaster rings like a bell through this thing in all the channels. Try dialing it in a little better there boys lol. I mean once again, stop comparing this to bigger more powerful amps…for that matter, stop comparing it to anything else because you can’t compare…it is what it is and accept that and use that sound to your advantage not disadvantage…that’s just Bull. Buy the Katana Mini and you won’t be disappointed. In fact, you will be really happy with it unless you’re one of these audiophile it has to be perfect kinda guy.Inspired by BOSS’s flagship Waza amp, the Katana-Mini has a Brown setting that delivers amazingly expressive, high-gain tones that are rich with harmonics making them ideal for heavy riffs and face-melting solos. This can vary depending on the capacity of the batteries and the conditions of use. Accessories Owner's manual Rechargeable Ni-MH battery: Approximately 9 hours (When using batteries having a capacity of 2500 mAh.) I gave 4 stars for quality because this amp is made 100% out of plastic; solid, hard but still plastic. I also give 4 stars for sound (if you take into account the size of the amp and how it plays than it should be 6 stars). While other small, battery-power amps often severely compromise on their sound quality in favour of size, the Katana-Mini has been designed to produce big, full tone that will have plugging in and playing every chance you get.
