Ghetto Balboa is Hungarian director, Árpád Bogdán latest work. As an atmospheric black and white documentary, it serves as a cinematic window into the journey of a young fighter trying to reach the top. In an effort to break free from an environment that is as harsh as it is unforgiving, Ghetto Balboa is a blood, sweat and tears journey between Zoli Szabó and his boxing coach on the path towards a better life. His coach, Misi Sipos is an ex member of the notorious 8th district mafia who turns his back on his criminal past, making it his mission to devote his time to helping and reforming the youth of the Budapest ghetto, through the art of boxing.
