About this deal

After all TC Electronics had me down in the torture chamber with their Ditto X4 for 2 years ( I will get to that later in article ) Why not take the Donner circle looper for a spin, so I did The One looper doesn’t come with any sort of screen. Whereas the Circle looper does. In fact, the LCD screen is very useful, especially when it comes to managing all the various settings. It is a highly portable looper pedal that weighs around 0.86 Ibs (0.39 kg) and has measurements of 4.76” (12.1 cm), 2.22” (5.6 cm), and 3.9” (9.9 cm). It won’t take much space on your pedalboard, which is a great plus for crowded pedal setups.

For me its all about simplicity, and if a pedal that’s a 1/4 of the price brings me the same satisfaction and fun I thinks its worth mentioning why. I’m going to let my readers and students at learn guitar cafe know. This looper is pretty much ‘plug-in & play’. There’s no complex software to install or firmware that needs updating every time it’s used. As far as usability goes, it score full marks. Foo-switches aside, the Trio has 6 volume-type adjustment knobs, whereas the Donner makes do with just 2. I wondered whether I should really be comparing looping pedals 3-5 the price of the Donna Circle Looper and if that’s really a fair comparison. However I think if there’s an option that’s easier to operate and cheaper this pedal is worth considering Both the Nux & the Donner boast a ‘fade out’ mode. Useful for when you want to smoothly transit in-between loops. A useful tool for when performing live!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

The selection of rhythms is pretty good, overall. Although of course it does fall short of what pedals like the Boss RC-505 MKII offer (over 200 rhythms with variations and multiple options for drum kits). It’s also missing options for things like fills that can really bring the patterns to life. Additional Looping Features and Memory I've narrowed it down to these two, but I'm open to other suggestions. They seem pretty similar, but here's some pros and cons. It is a highly intuitive pedal, and it is simple as it can be. With 4 different adjustment knobs and LED indicators, it is quite an easy pedal to use. It also features some excellent features like auto-align, The looper was 44.1kHz 24-bit, which kept each layer sounding sharp, even as additional loops were dubbed on top. It has 40, 4 minute recording slots, for a total of 160 minutes of recorded audio. You get 40 memory slots which can each record up to 4 minutes. Just find a slot that hasn’t got anything on it already and your right to go.

If your musical style demands longer loop times, exceeding the 4-minute limit, you might need to explore other loopers with extended recording capabilities. While this pedal is versatile, it may not cater to compositions that require extensive looping. True Bypass Preferences Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. KHZ 24bit Looper: The pedal boasts a high-quality 44.1kHz 24-bit looper, ensuring top-notch audio quality for your recordings and loops. Form factor– In comparison to its rivals, the Donner Circle is reasonably travel friendly. It’s footprint is small at just 12.1cm x 5.6cm x 9.9cm (Width x Height x Depth), as is its weight. For a looper pedal with 2 foot-switches, a screen, 2 volume-type knobs 7 a whole host of inputs/ outputs, a curb weight of less than 400g is impressive!!Despite whether you use the Donner Circle or Boss RC-5 looper, you’ll have input for an expression or sustain pedal. Useful if you plan on using this looper in a live setting!! Short Loop Recording Time: A 4-minute recording limit may feel restricting for musicians who require longer loops. An extended recording time, perhaps up to 6 minutes, would be a welcome addition. Undoubtably our answer would be yes. Ask us & the Donner Circle is more than worth it for most loopers. So while it may not have the most features of any looping pedal, nor be the best suited to serious looping pros, as a piece of looping kit for beginners goes, it’s pretty much ideal. Here’s just a few things that we think makes the Circle looper stand out…
