Rather than focusing on cutting corners and reducing costs in any way they could, the developers over at KRK Systems decided to put together an awesome powered studio monitor working at much reduced operating temperatures improving audio integrity even further. I am also glad I got these because the front firing bass port really makes a difference, especially if your room isn't specially treated (If it is then your retarded to be considering these and not the VXT's because you obviously have money to blow because you probably do this professionally). I love these monitors. I will never mix with anything smaller than an 8" speaker. One important issue to mention is that the RP8 is designed for a larger room, or fully isolated, sound proofed area. Another decider for me was - front port for woofer, i can place it closer to rear wall than most rear ported speakers, meaning i can have these 8" speakers in smaller room and still be able to utilise them properly. It has a front-firing port to help with the low-end punch. As well as this, the low resonance enclosure within has been made to prevent any colorization of the sound and prevent distortion. We’ve already discussed the high-quality Kevlar divers, which are robust and powerful and have no issues driving the bounce of these cones.

Input and connection-wise, the new KRK Rokit 8 is fairly simplistic in what it offers. Simply put, it’s not going to be anything particularly special and is just for plugging in and connecting out to other speakers. I, in particular, am a huge fan of speakers that work with their listeners in terms of the different tuning and EQ options. That said, as with many other decent speaker setups, you’ll probably need to break them in before really enjoying everything that they have to offer.
