About this deal

On November 23, 1976, just a week after the three Hammersmith shows, Brian Robertson got involved in a skirmish while defending his Scots soul singer pal Frankie Miller at The Speakeasy Club in London’s West End. To celebrate the 45th anniversary of Thin Lizzy’s 1978 live album Live And Dangerous UMC will release a definitive 8CD super deluxe edition featuring a newly remastered version of the album and alongside it all the gigs recorded for Live and Dangerous!

It was recorded in London in 1976, and Philadelphia and Toronto in 1977, with further production in Paris. com (also known as Esprit) has been the world's biggest and best seller of premium quality and top condition rare and vintage vinyl records, rare CD's and music memorabilia since 1985 - that's 39 years! O item em si é fantástico, com um belo livro e os vários shows desse álbum fantástico, um dos melhores albuns ao vivo de todos os tempos. We get the three Hammersmith Odeon shows, two from The Tower Theatre, Philadelphia in October ’77, one from Seneca College Field House, Toronto that same month, plus Lizzy’s March ’78 show at the Rainbow theatre in London.Lizzy had been due to fly to the US on a support tour with Queen the next morning, but Robbo was incapacitated. In 2022, a deluxe box set of the album was released, containing the original live recordings that made up the album. It delves into the band’s history, the dynamics between members, and the stories behind these legendary recordings.

The band began touring to promote the album, but after a one-off gig in Ibiza, Lynott and Robertson had an acrimonious argument.Lynott said that there were a few necessary overdubs, but "anything else would have ruined the atmosphere on those recordings and made a mockery of putting out a live album".

These seven shows from London, Toronto and Philadelphia have been newly mixed by Ben Findlay from the original multi-tracks and mastered by Andy Pearce, overseen by legendary Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham. of them fell out during the transport - even worse, 3 of the most generously scratched CDs kept occasionally skipping and ultimately freezing on the same track on every player I tried, even after I thoroughly cleaned them a number of times. But it's not all about these tracks, the other tracks aren't here as fillers, and while the writing and playing quality is high throughout special mention needs to be made of the beautiful "Southbound" and the sublime seven minutes of "Still In Love With You" from the "Bad Reputation" and "Nightlife" albums respectively. Live and Dangerous by Thin Lizzy is one of those classic live albums from the 1970’s that always gets featured in those top live albums of all time lists.

It was also the last Thin Lizzy album to feature guitarist Brian Robertson, [a] who left the band shortly after its release. It has continued to attract critical acclaim and it has appeared in several lists of the greatest live albums of all time.

This in-the-round approach confirms what we already knew, namely that Lizzy were on-point every night. Thin Lizzy's 1978 double album, Live and Dangerous , along with Kiss' Alive , the Who's Live at Leeds , and the Rolling Stones' Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out , is one of the greatest live rock albums of all time. Disc five originally released, in abbreviated form, as Still Dangerous (Live At The Tower Theatre Philadelphia 1977) in 2009.The box set features performances from iconic venues like the Hammersmith Odeon and the Tower Theater in Philadelphia, capturing the band’s raw energy and stage presence.
