About this deal

Decide to do the Tao (or practice the Way) in that moment by turning inward with curiosity about where you are on the continuum between desire and allowing. As a side note that's not really applicable to this book's review; I found quite a lot of Lao Tzu's teachings to be incredibly thought-provoking. He’s since gone on to author dozens of books and become a popular speaker on the subject of self-development. Instead - he plays a 2500+ year long, language-crossing game of "broken telephone" in good faith that his most immediate sources will be good enough. It's about finding the value in every situation and genuinely believing that things will work out for you.

John’s University in New York, and honored a lifetime commitment to learning and finding the Higher Self. Dyer, who has taken ten popular interpretations as his guide to extracting wisdom from the Tao Te Ching. As Wayne says, This is a book that will forever change the way you look at your life, and the result will be that youll live in a new world aligned with nature.Something completely random that I realised the other day is that Wayne Dyer has a very similar voice to Morpheus from The Matrix . Furthermore the world desperately needs more of us to be heeding and living more of these principles, especially in today's tumultuous, unsustainable and divisive era. Me: To know (知) that you don't know (不知) is superior (上); to not know (不知), and to think you DO know (知) is a disease (病).

Dyer has reviewed hundreds of translations of the Tao Te Ching and has written 81 distinct essays on how to apply the ancient wisdom of Lao-tzu to today's modern world. Taoism is an excellent philosophy as it does not ask you to believe in any mythical beings or practise any specific rituals. I now live in accord with the natural world and feel the greatest sense of peace I've ever experienced. I listen to this book, feeling as if the Chinese culture, the Tao is being somewhat Christianized, and I feel like listening the Tao while the message is just Wayne Dyer! Perhaps I am not a very good nez person, perhaps right now I am not in the path to listen to the audio book.I'm on my 2nd reread and when i emerge from my morning meditation a few verses of this book, a cup of coffee, some lovely music - gets my day off to a great start making me feel ever so good inside and realizing of my connection.

Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life (2007) takes you through each verse of the Tao Te Ching, the classic text related to the philosophical and spiritual traditions of Taoism. The first verse also establishes the Tao as being mysterious, and that only those who are “desireless” can see the mystery, while those who are “ever desiring” will only see the manifestations and things the Tao creates. If you find that you’re constantly putting yourself down or focusing on the problems, make a conscious effort to look for solutions to those very problems. When you're trying to solve a problem, it's important to take a step back and look at the big picture.

I was listening to the beautiful quotations and the magical voice of the author and "beautiful" was all I could say mesmerized by such wise and simple things. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages.

The notion of believing we can manifest whatever we want may sell a lot of books, but there is a difference between a person's internal reality, and provable external reality. As I was attempting to read through and absorb this very first lesson, I was given an excellent opportunity to put it into practice. I'm so proud to present this interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, and offer the same opportunity for change that it has brought me. The second verse of the Tao Te Ching is very much about accepting the paradoxes that are inherent in life.

However, there's unlimited possibilities to where you can be, who you can become, and what you can do with your life. That said, I don't think this makes it impossible to use the "Dao De Jing" to find meaning and utility in your day to day life, but even if one grants that, one has to admit Dyer's interpretations are all over the place, lazy, and at times completely nonsensical. Dyer used several translations in the writing of this book (which is unfortunately named) including the version I mention above.
