Bolstering through into the second month of 2019, our next handful of bookings include some of the most versatile and diverse names to grace the decks. Headlining a heavy-duty trio of agile selectors, we are lucky to be hosting a Live set from the exceptional musical unit, DMX Krew. London-based mainstay DMX Krew’s career has surpassed well over two decades since he grabbed the helm for the 90s electro revival, going on to found his own respected labels Breakin Records and Fresh Up alongside being picked up by Aphex Twin’s Rephlex in the late 90s, which catapulted him head-first into the ecosphere of mixing. A frequenter on the most esteemed of record labels including Hypercolour and Permanent Vacation, Edward Upton’s sound has encompassed a broad range of soundscapes including elastic acid house, delirious breakbeats, cyborg-style electro and synthy, melodic techno. Directly guided by the watchful gaze of Mr. G, Jason Wynters has come far in the three years since he was signed to Mr. G’s label, Phoenix G. Jason’s flair for drifting effortlessly into the deeper end of the sonic continuum during his sets whilst still maintaining a dance-focused drive have proved more than just locally popular; he’s graced the likes of Houghton and Freerotation just this last summer alone and has much, much more planned for 2019. It’s only fitting that we bring these underground sounds to the basement. Catch DMX Krew, Jayson Wynters, and Eminent-resident’s electro protégé Zobol surfing through a plethora of far-reaching territories on Friday 8th February in Jacob’s Basement.
