About this deal

Gigi comes off as one of the sweetest ghouls in Monster High. She has a friendly nature and is kind and helpful to others as much as she can. However, she tends to hide away when it comes to confrontations with other monsters (such as Toralei or Whisp). She's afraid of making severe mistakes at times as she knows there can be consequences.

It's a classic genie story – with a Monster High twist. When Howleen Wolf discovers a magic lantern, she's granted 13 wishes instead of three. She makes some good choices, and some bad choices, and creature chaos soon ensues. It's up to the ghoul friends to save the day, and all before the Haunt the Casbah Dance. Girls will love recreating favourite movie moments and inventing new adventures with the Gigi Grant doll. Fake Brit: Julie Maddalena as Robecca Steam, Stephanie Sheh as Jane Boolittle, and Jonquil Goode as Ari Hauntington. Gigi's lantern was found by Howleen, and when Whisp tried to take control over her, her friends found every piece of the magic mirror, stopping Whisp. Howleen's last wish released Gigi from her lantern, so she could stay at Monster High and make Whisp the lantern's new genie. She now studies at Monster High and makes an effort to adapt to the world outside. The G3 animated series depicts Ghoulia, Toralei, and Purrsephone with short hair, while their official dolls have long hair. Similarly, Meowlody's offical doll has her hair in long pigtails, while in the show she has it styled in twin buns.Prototype images indicated that Clawdeen (and presumably other werebeasts) was going to have her ears mounted on a headband rather than molded onto her head.

Howleen Wolf is the one who finds the lantern Gigi resides in, so they start developing a friendship. She finds it a little strange that she is developing a relationship with a 'finder' but enjoys Howleen's personality. She is also friends with her shadow-half Djinni "Whisp" Grant, who once tried to dominate the world. In her bio it states that she is friends with Twyla Boogeyman as well as Iris Clops with their shared passion for Astronomy. Gigi also seems to be good friends with Catty Noir as they both have common interest with each other in the New Scaremester diaries. The artwork for Gigi's "School's Out" doll gives her a low ponytail with hair swept across her face, and a small section of her midriff is visible. The doll's hairstyle is a high ponytail, and her outfit is one piece. Teleportation: Gigi can teleport from place to place, which she used to make use when her finders summoned her. It is unknown if she kept this ability with the genie exchange. Disabled Character, Disabled Actor: Kayla Cromer, an autistic actress, voices the autistic Twyla Boogeyman in G3. Even comics can't resist, as The DCU now has its own line of various female characters going to high school (in all fairness however, DC was pushing for that to happen even well before Batman Beyond was created- but likely went ahead now thanks to other similar lines being successful). Granted, the merchandise is another Mattel property, not another company.

Wish Granting: When still bound to the lantern rules, Gigi could grant each finder a total of 13 wishes. However, when this power was passed on to Whisp, Gigi lost it. In 'Scareful What You Wish For', Gigi learns that her wish granting is still available for her, though only for simple wishes. She can also grant unlimited wishes, rather than only 13. A few of the G2 doll releases, like the Scream and Sugar Amanita and Nefera and I Love Fashion Whisp, are plainly G1 dolls that weren't able to release during G1, since their facial designs and bodies are in the G1 style. Furthermore, with Whisp, her format is a hint—the I Love Fashion series was a G1 staple that first existed to provide dolls with several outfits and then gained the function of being the place where female characters that had formerly been SDCC exclusives got a wide release. Whisp was the only such character to not get an ILF doll prior to the end of G1, indicating alongside her visual design that her G2 doll was always intended for a G1 release.
