About this deal

The Trollberg Stories collect the third and fourth graphic novels, Hilda and the Bird Parade and Hilda and the Black Hound, into one edition. Luke is a frequent contributor to a number of comic anthologies in the UK as well as self-publishing a number of small-run homemade comics.

In Hilda’s new adventure, she meets the Nisse: a mischievous but charismatic bunch of misfits who occupy a world beside – but also somehow within – our own, and where the rules of physics don’t quite match up. It also offered Luke Pearson the chance to have Hilda, who in the first story is clearly already familiar with the Wilderness, be put in an environment new to her. While on an expedition to illustrate the magical creatures of the mountains around her home, Hilda spots a mountain troll. Your selection was perfect for our children and what really made the difference was your ability to engage with each child, discuss their interests and help them to choose a suitable book based on your extensive knowledge of the books you were selling. Hilda is sat in her tent, dwarfed by volumes of the Greater Fjords Wildlife Chronicles with a flashlight and her restless companion Twig, but Hilda’s not in the Fjords and it isn’t raining.
