About this deal

Extend the headband to the maximum “open” position, and place the protective cups over the ears, with the headband passing over the head. Adjust headband over forehead as necessary. If headband is too tight or too loose, adjust Velcro and reposition. Ems for Kids Child Earmuffs are the world's first folding, compact hearing protection earmuffs for kids! These earmuffs weigh just 190 grams, are small enough to fit in your hand, and have an average noise reduction rating of 26 db.

Some ear muffs come in a variety of colors to let you customize your infant’s look, which may be especially important if you’re buying them for social outings. Earmuffs are designed to be worn by children (aged 6 months and over) while in loud areas or environments where they can be easily overwhelmed or overstimulated by noise. Many children find them particularly useful in environments like school assembly or busy shopping centres. The circumference of your infant’s head isn’t the only concern when sizing a pair of ear muffs. The ear cup itself will need to fit snugly around the ear to form a tight seal and keep noise out. When considering contraindications and risks to treatment consider what may be contraindicated by a normal muscle contraction and an element of increased blood flow to the area. Electrical stimulation should not be used were active movement would not be appropriate e.g. a muscle contraction that will evoke movement around an unstable fracture. There is also not enough evidence to support the benefits versus the risks of use with pregnancy. The presence of tumours, broken skin and implanted metal work should also be a consideration and should be discussed with medical staff and EMS representatives but may be a precaution rather than an absolute contraindication. Compatibility with other types of implants i.e. pacemakers and baclofen pumps should also be considered prior to use. Electrode placement – different devices will provide different guidance as to where the electrodes should be placed. However in all cases try to ensure the electrodes are positioned over the muscle to be affected and you are moving the body into either anatomical neutral, or into the position with which they will assume to perform an activity. For example, if you are trying the stimulate wrist extension and place the electrodes with the forearm in pronation, if you then supinate for the therapy, the effect and movement will be changed.

Expert Reviews

Is your child sensitive to noise? These high quality, industrial grade hearing protection earmuffs are your answer. Designed especially for little ears ages 6 months to mid-teen, they have a size adjustable headband and extendable metal arms which allow the earmuffs to grow with your child. Excellent for special needs and those with sensory issues. Most small EMS devices are powered by household batteries, all are very unlikely to deliver enough electricity to cause harm (see contraindications below); this is more usually the number one reason therapists are not confident in applying stimulation initially. Always keep in mind you are reproducing a normal muscle contraction.

If noise reduction is your goal, the Noise Reduction Rating will be a big help. Look for the highest rating you can find if you’re preparing for excessively noisy environments like sporting events or races. Skin surface - make sure the area the electrodes will be placed is clean and dry (moisturised/oily skin will prevent the electrodes adhering to the skin). Dense hair may need to be clipped. Settle the headband in position on the head while adjusting the height of the ear cups until they feel comfortable. The headband should rest comfortably on the head to support the earmuffs. When worn by smaller children, the headband may sit slightly above the top of the head. The earmuffs will still work effectively in this position. IMPORTANT: Ems for Kids Earmuffs are not a toy, and should be used under adult supervision for hearing protection only. When used correctly and properly maintained, Ems for Kids Earmuffs are designed to protect the ears of the wearer from potentially harmful noise. The earmuffs are designed to specifically reduce high frequency noise.

It is important to put the earmuffs on comfortably before exposing the wearer to any sort of noise. The earmuffs should be worn for the entire time that potentially damaging noise is present. EN352-1:2002, testing and certification issued by an accredited NIST laboratory, which is part of the National Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for tests performed according to EN352 parts 1-8. SAFETY STANDARDS:Ems for Kids AUDIO headphones comply with the following international safety standards:

Amplitude (sometime referred to as intensity) refers to the strength of the stimulation delivered, measured in milliamps (mA). The amplitude needs to be high enough to evoke the desired affect while still remaining comfortable. This parameter is always adjustable in EMS devices and often appears like a volume switch. Adjustment of this parameter is always available as amplitude may not always be set to the same level at each treatment session. As the muscle gets stronger it may require less amplitude to effect the same response, or, if the electrode position is not optimal more amplitude may be required to produce the same muscle contraction. It is therefore important for the patient and therapist to understand what level of muscle contraction is desired during each session so the intensity can be varied accordingly. To use the cable’s in-built microphone, connect the headphones via the AUX cable and use the call button (call icon) Note: Maximum listening volume is 85dB to ensure safe listening.

Another use for infant ear muffs is travel. This is especially true while on an airplane, where shutting out noise can be very useful in keeping a baby quietly napping. Even when you’re driving, noise-canceling ear muffs can be great for getting those naps in while still allowing the adults in the car to carry on a conversation without worry. Hold one ear cup in each hand, stretch the cups apart and place the headband over the child’s head, settling the ear cups on the child’s ears. Extend the adjustable headband on either side to adjust sizing. The headband should rest comfortably on the head to support the headphones. When worn by smaller children, the headband may sit slightly above the top of the head. The headphones will still work effectively in this position. The ear cup cushions should be a snug, comfortable fit against the head. In 2007, Daniel Gibney, dad and drummer, needed a product that would protect his daughter’s ears while hepractiseddrums at home or played at gigs. On the hunt for a product to help, Dan realisedthe market had room for an earmuff designed specifically for kids. Consequently, over the next 12 months, Dan patented the first folding, KIDS earmuff design and launched it to the market with the ‘Ems for Kids’ name, inhonourof his first daughter ‘Emily’ or ‘Em’. Despite the slow uptake of EMS as a rehabilitation tool in the UK there is a wealth of evidence about the effects of this type of modality for a range of neuromuscular conditions in adults and children including stroke, spinal cord injury, ABI and cerebral palsy; in some areas EMS is more evidence based than some more conventional physiotherapy adjuncts. Areas indicated for use that may impact your own patient case load include:VEILIGHEIDSNORMEN : Ems for Kids BABY-gehoorbeschermers voldoen aan internationale veiligheidsnormen: In addition, the statute allows the EMS Authority to establish guidelines for hospital facilities, in cooperation with affected medical organizations, according to critical care capabilities (Health and Safety Code § 1798.150).
