The good news is apparently they WILL grow out of this delightfull stage of development and turn back into ordinary people once more! This book was first published in 2005 and, I am sure, must have helped a great many young people and their parents and other carers since it first came out. Today I thought I’d share some of these models with you, particularly the ones that are helpful for schools, organisations and parents/carers working and living with traumatised young people.

Nicola speaks in schools and at conferences all over the world about issues concerning teenagers and creates original resources for teachers. Yes, it existed but until the smartphone became mainstream and affordable, it wasn’t something enough people had in their pockets to make an impact on life. And our parents have never even heared of TEENAGERS , to them they are lovely devoted grandchildren, ha ha, if only they lived with them !

I originally borrowed this book from my local library and enjoyed it so much that I bought a copy for me and my family. I did glean a couple of interesting insights - about recognising emotions, and sleep - but the premise that you can blame teenage behaviour on their brains is deterministic and depressing! Your report about the "blame my brain" is very informative and helpful to fight against brains severe diseases. A young survivor tells her searing, visceral story of sexual assault, justice, and healing in this gutwrenching memoir.

I was also clear that any differences stemming from biology do not have to dictate behaviour or skills. Highly recommended for parents who’re interested to know what’s actually happening in their teen’s brain. Writing Blame My Brain (full title – Blame My Brain – The Amazing Teenage Brain Revealed) changed my life.

A comprehensive and fully updated guide to the biological mysteries that lie behind teenage behaviour.

Because of its inherent complexity, the book bites off a little more than it can chew: but as a way towards non-judgmentally enabling teens and their parents to understand what may be going on during this confusing time, it is a truly excellent way in. Blame my brain' has confirmed to me that I was not demented after all or angst-ridden just for the hell of it back when I was a hormonal teenager. I only wish that this book had been around when dealing with my own teenager's antisocial behaviour.

And perhaps bearing in mind the current debates around transgender, referencing this and how it plays into the debate would have also showed a more contemporary view of how we view the differences in individual teenage brains. All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! Highly recommended for parents of teenagers wondering why they can never seem to say ANYTHING right. More unusually though this book is very much pitched at teenagers themselves and in that regard it is a 4 star read.

One of my GP colleagues who’s also working in an excellent youth service in East London recommended this book to me.
