About this deal

Gaggenau's induction hob has five flexible cooking areas with 17 power levels and a memory function. Having mentioned cost above, we’re going to do it again now too. If you have a budget for your induction hob, always, always include the installation costs in that budget. So be prepared for the possibility of needing to kit yourself out with a new set of pans if you invest in a FlexInduction hob. The pans that will work are:

So, if you have a larger pot or pan, or a roasting tray you’re trying to reduce a gravy or sauce in, the flexible zones make this nice and easy. The second reason is if you don’t have enough depth in your countertop for a standard depth hob. Most regular induction hobs are around 50cm deep, so if you have a shallow depth countertop you may not be able to fit one in.If the hob is especially grubby or shows signs of pot stains that can’t be removed using washing up liquid, try the vinegar and baking soda method. Combine one part baking soda with one part white vinegar in a bowl or spray bottle and apply it to the hob. Leave for 30 minutes, wipe off with a damp sponge and give it a buff with a dry cloth. Job done. Oh, and of course, one other potential pitfall of the boost setting is that it can take liquids in a pan from tepid to boiling over in the blink of an eye. This can be highly dramatic, and will totally mess up your cooking surface and worktop, so don't get distracted and wonder off while heating up, for instance, pasta. 6. You can't cook as if you're still using gas

If you have a smaller cooking area, but still want an innovative solution with the latest technology, we recommend the portable induction hob. It’s easy to move around and it can be stowed away when you're not using it to free up space. Which pans and pots can I use for induction hobs? Finally, what features does your hob have at the moment that you can’t live without? And what features does your current hob have that you have never used, not even in a moment of curiosity? If you opt to go with a Smeg cooker hood, the auto-vent function automatically controls the hood extraction speed depending on the temperature and power level you’re cooking at. So you don’t need to worry about the cooker hood settings, meaning you can focus on that delicious dish!

What to Keep in Mind When Buying a FlexInduction Hob

They occasionally make buzzing and humming noises. This is normal, but it can be annoying and disconcerting at first. After all, induction hobs are expensive and so choosing the perfect one for your needs is really important. Other things you'll have to get used to are cooking on lower power settings than you're used to – see mistake #5, above – or reducing cooking times. Induction may not involve flames, but it can be fierce.
