About this deal

I use the tap to join a hose to the next waterbutt so that they maintain level. I don't care how slow that is, by "tomorrow" they will all have the same level again. Personally I wouldn't even fill a watering can via the tap, whiling away my life waiting for it to fill each time. I have a large galvanised circular tank as a water butt. It has a lid, but slid halfway-off, or removed, I can dunk to watering cans at once and they will within a couple of seconds. If you're using this hose to join to water butts together please note we supply water butt linking kits here.

The majority of our diverters and filters our supplied with 30-50cm hose to connect the filter/diverter to the water butt. The tap - pathetic diameter, so low-flow. How long does it take to fill a 10L watering can if you put it under the tap - a minute? more perhaps? The hose. 1/2" - given the low flow rate from the tap, and low "Head", the frictional loses on 25M of hose will be considerable. Repeat the watering can filling test, but using the full length of the hose (already primed). Put the watering can in the original position (under the tap) but fill it from the end of the hose instead. Presumably that is even slower than when filled from the tap direct? Parcels/deliveries can only be "left out" if the delivering company allows that option. Parcelforce, for example, do not allow a parcel to be "left out".

Head" is not very much - the height of the water level in the butt. Maybe 3'? That's not enough to provide much pressure.

So my advice to anyone thinking of getting a water butt is to consider one with a decent width / opening at the top and/or a bigger bore tap at the bottom. If I expressed that badly in my earlier post I'm sorry. Occasionally there are delays. We shall not be liable for any direct or indirect losses, costs, damages or expenses incurred by you or any other person for any delays in delivery. Must admit that I haven't properly understood what you are trying to do with the hose, but I presume attach it to the tap on the water butt and then ... what? Let it flow out of the hose at a level lower than the tap on the water butt? or something else.

Occasionally your water butt may be greater than this distance from the downpipe and so we have a range of hoses to allow a greater separation between water butt and downpipe diverter. A loss/replacement can only be pursued in line with the target delivery times of the courier or once the courier accept loss.
