About this deal

Vinyl 1: Original album newly remastered in sleeve replicating the original album on 180 gram vinyl. I’m assuming you mean that the album has the Side 2 tracks pressed onto both sides, and not that there are simply two Side 2 labels on the LP. The fact that Physical was released in 1975 but Song wasn’t released until 1976 indicates that you have a later reissue of Physical (because the Song labels didn’t exist yet in 1975). Reproductions might also have different colored vinyl and list "LZ-A" and "LZ-B" on the corresponding sides of the deadwax, rather than the catalogue number.

I have personally seen pressings with the inscriptions on both sides, sometimes switched sides, sometimes only “So Mote…” on one side and the other blank, sometimes only “Do What…” on one side and the other blank, and sometimes no inscription at all. One of my neighbours was a press photographer at the Auckland concert, and jumped in to help tune an acoustic guitar for the roadies when Bonham turned up dead drunk an hour before the show and the ground crew scrambled to sober him up, not that you can tell he was in any way impared from the bootleg of the concert). So my strategy would be either to find an old, battered copy of Led Zep 1 that you could swap the bags around with (and then sell the record for what you paid for it), or better still, find an album sold by Atlantic around the same time as Led Zep 1 that also had the same bag (which is likely to be cheaper than a new copy of Led Zep 1) and swap them around that way. Although the first UK pressing of 1 is astronomical mint if records are graded properly then VG+ should be quite good to listen to on normal (not audiophile) players. PS, I saw Led Zeppelin in 1969 at Leeds Uni, I will never forget the dynamics, the 1000 watt slave amps stacked 10 high and only 2000 people in the hall.I didn’t know it at the time, but my US pressing was pretty early and has excellent sound – probably better than an equivalent UK version. The original album is newly remastered; the 2nd CD featuring a previously unreleased October 1969 concert from Paris, France.

This applies to all editions – and 1st turquoise with uncorrected matrixes, and with corrected, and Warner. But many dealers mistakenly think these things are indeed rarities and will assign a premium value to them. The tour was arguably best known for the band's performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 9th January - Jimmy Page’s Birthday. Mispressings like this happen a lot more than most people think, as it can sometimes be chaos in the pressing plant. So Mote Be It” and “Do What Thou Wilt”, which led to much apparently serious speculation as to whether Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones had sold their souls to the devil. Thinking about the ones that got away in the record bins—the turquoise-lettered pressing of Led Zeppelin I or the black-and-gold-label edition of Please Please Me. These 4 or 5-star reviews represent the opinions of the individuals who posted them and do not reflect the views of Etsy. Etsy’s 100% renewable electricity commitment includes the electricity used by the data centres that host Etsy. Guitarist Jimmy Page had joined The Yardbirds in their final days and played a crucial role on their last album.

In 2010 there was a re-issue of the turquoise-lettered version, supposedly limited to only 1000 copies. I’m a big vinyl fan having spent most of my life with it after my first introduction to it at the tender age of 6 (possibly earlier) when I used to listen to my dads collection (when dad was out and mum was in the kitchen of course ! LP - Original album on 180 gram vinyl, newly remastered in single sleeve replicating the original album. There’s nothing unique about it (it’s not rare; there are plenty of them around) except the vinyl color.Your blog gave me the drive to go through my collection of pristine vinyl with the view of selling them. But, as I’ve said in some of my other posts, it’s only worth what someone is willing to give you for it, which could vary wildly from day to day. I took it apart and wrapped electrical tape around the capstan flywheel to increase its diameter and make the speed more accurate. Because of this deal, all Led Zeppelin master tapes reside in a vault somewhere in the USA (likely, New York area).
