About this deal

TJ Klune is extremely good at setting the scene for the reader and the description is so vivid that I immediately felt drawn to the island of Marsayas and the people who live there. Why, yes there is that too, absolutely: a tender, touching love story about how finding a true soulmate can make you the best version of yourself and give you courage to fight for what you care about. He tries to remain positive about his lot in life, but he does have a dream, inspired by the only decoration on his work desk. I think I would have liked it a bit more because while I enjoyed it a lot, my expectations were too high going in. The House in the Cerulean Sea is a big, warm, comforting hug wrapped up in a novel, and it’s one of the most hopeful fantasy novels I’ve read.

Linus must live with them for a month, reporting back to DICOMY, and decide if the orphanage should stay open. He has been working there for 17 years, the job is routine, he visits various orphanages and schools funded by the Department, files his reports and then the cases are done and he remains detached. As we fall in love with Arthur alongside a bumbling, oblivious Linus, Arthur’s gentle, paternal nature just gets more and more clear (and, at a time, threaded through with a passionate surge of protectiveness that made me (and Linus) a little hot under the collar). I know, deep within my soul, that it should not be missed by anyone, as it is so lovingly written for everyone. edit: what the fuck do you mean this is based off of "the Sixties Scoop, which refers to the Canadian government's practice of removing indigenous children from their homes with the intent of adopting them out to white, middle-class families. When Linus is unexpectedly summoned by Extremely Upper Management he's given a curious and highly classified assignment: travel to Marsyas Island Orphanage, where six dangerous children reside: a gnome, a sprite, a wyvern, an unidentifiable green blob, a were-Pomeranian, and the Antichrist. It had strong messages and themes at its heart, and yes, sometimes these messages were hammered home a bit, and perhaps could have been conveyed a bit more subtly, but that didn't stop the themes from resonating.

The plot of The House In The Cerulean Sea is relatively simple and, for the most part, it is easy to see where it is going. And at the Department in Charge of Magical Youth, he’s spent many dull years monitoring their orphanages. An enchanting story, masterfully told, The House in the Cerulean Sea is about the profound experience of discovering an unlikely family in an unexpected place—and realizing that family is yours. An enchanting story, masterfully told, The House in the Cerulean Sea is about the profound experience of discovering an unlikely family in an unexpected place-and realizing that family is yours. His direct manager and supervisor spend their time mocking him and his colleagues have no respect for him, considering him a joke even though they are all the same cogs. even with all the hype its gotten over the past year and half, the story just didnt interest me in the slightest. While the first few chapters were slow-going, I was hooked from chapter four until the incredible end.

All in all, The House in the Cerulean Sea is a cracking, charming novel, and I find myself hoping for a sequel. so you know part of an actual genocide), and then acted like it was all figured out after a settlement. Thankfully he doesn’t learn the identities of the kids because he may have passed out during the meeting with his superiors! It actually started from a Wikipedia article because I have a tendency to get lost in Wikipedia for a long time and that’s a problem. The message is essentially "This place isn't so bad, they just needed to find someone in the system who cared about them. I don’t feel qualified to comment on this as it’s not a part of history I have much (if any) knowledge of. I'm very happy to report that the book read just like I was expecting it to, which means tight writing, romance (! However, I can't help but wonder how I would have felt about it had I not seen so much hype surrounding it. Linus has always had the best interests of the children he oversees in mind, even in the face of the de-attached bureaucracy he works for, however until he is sent to the House in the Cerulean Sea what he understands and what it is children truly need are completely different.

If you’re looking for a book that will bring you shameless joy and fill your heart to the point where you think it might burst, then look no further than this one. There is an air of Englishness about the whole thing, perhaps the way everyone is trapped in miserable powerless damp grey lives. So, of course Linus' heart grows three sizes, and he has to learn to stop being such a rule-follower and start actually standing up for a principle. Yes, I am the criminal book reviewer reviewing books like my life depends on it when in real it's real.and as far as i can tell in the 23 years i’ve lived in this yucky world, there is no business trip that will deus ex machina your sorry ass into your place and your purpose and your people. And much to his astonishment, he also discovers a quiet yearning within his own heart for a life he never even knew he wanted. I know part of the reason I didn't like it very much is how much it wasn't my "type"; I found it very cringe-inducing a lot of the time because of how unlike actual human beings the characters acted.
