The ISD gig is held every September by the white power movement Blood and Honour (B&H) to mark the anniversary of the death of the B&H founder and former Skrewdriver frontman Ian Stuart Donaldson, who died in a car accident in 1993. GLORIFYING VIOLENCE At the time I was an activist with the National Front in Leeds and we had already dipped our toe into the water by printing the Punk Front zine, a tatty newsletter which was aimed at supporters who were into punk but not yet active. The brainchild of Eddy Morrison, it was probably the first attempt by any modern racial Nationalist organisation to involve itself in the alternative music scene.

Ian was rushed to Queens medical Centre in Nottingham, with severe head injuries. There he failed to regain consciousness and died at twenty minute to eleven on the Friday morning 24th September 1993. The great merit of this work would be the fact that several songs are translated into French by the author himself. We had read their lyrics on Youtube a long time ago, but our poor knowledge of English did not allow us to deepen their meaning.

His former friend and mentor Joe Pearce, once a leading member of the National Front, explained that during his time in prison Donaldson became more hardened in his beliefs. We believe this is at least the second time they have used this property – they used it last year too. The owner of the property should be aware that this group's activities are monitored. The reformed Skrewdriver eventually became openly supportive of far right-wing groups, after a period of denying such claims. Donaldson eventually described himself as a neo-Nazi, saying: “I would describe myself as a British National Socialist, not a German one, and so don’t think I’m at odds with British patriots.” The PF had only limited success, but it was enough to get the reds frothing at the mouth and a mention in Sounds, one of the largest music papers in the UK. Up until this point, the left considered music and youth culture to be their preserve.
