Paying tribute to her much-loved cousin, Kirsty said: "She loved dancing, she loved doing selfies and going out with her friends. A schoolgirl tragically died just five weeks after being rushed to hospital with suspected heat stroke. Ella is similar to other popular girl names ending in a, such as Emma, Sofia, Olivia, Ava, and Bella. Variations of Ella include Elah and Ela. Ella is also quite flexible and can be used in compound names like Ella-Mae, Ella- Marie, Ella-Rose, Ella-Grace, Ella-Rae, Ella-Louise, Ella-Jade, and Ella-Jane. A delightful book and a superb main Character in Grace-Ella. I particularly liked mum’s reaction upon finding out her daughter was a witch. Beautifully written with a subtle lesson in not hurting others threaded through it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.’ Toppsta Aside from a drop in the seventies, eighties, and early nineties, Ella has been popular in the United States for the past hundred-plus years. Ella's popularity grew by 50 percent from year to year between 2001 and 2004, when the movie Ella Enchanted was released.According to her cousin Kirsty Eltringham, she needed extra surgery due to fluid buildup on her brain, but the outlook was uncertain, and there were fears about her waking up following the procedure. This is one book I choose to read this Halloween, I like the story, specifically the potion making part, also I like Grace Ella she is extraordinary.... There are too many people taking their own lives and a drastic increase particularly with our youngsters. No parent should ever suffer this devastating loss of their child - and if we can help prevent suicide and encourage them to talk - this would help." Ceri added: "Kelly was a lovely outgoing girl. She had a beautiful smile but behind her smile, she was suffering so much with her mental health. Ella's condition deteriorated significantly as she developed slurred speech and uncontrollable limb motions.

Despite her own health struggles, Kirsty will be facing the weather and setting off from her home in Newton-le-Willows and riding to Alder Hey on Saturday. Incredibly, the fundraiser has already surpassed its target as support comes pouring in. Anyone wishing to donate can do so here. So with that the ride carries on and on the 29th July we set off and we do this in memory of the most amazing little girl in the world who shown more strength and determination than any 9 year old should have to face. You are the reason we carry on Ella, and we know you'll be overseeing us in spirit."

Ella continued to fight, but tragically, the family were soon told the cancer had spread and it was terminal. Ella died at Alder Hey on July 20, surrounded by her loving family. Ella-Grace Holman had been complaining of feeling unwell and her parents suspected it could be heat stroke. When her symptoms worsened, she was rushed to hospital, where it was found she had a brain tumour. Words cannot explain the emotions where a child having to go through that is concerned, and my heart aches so bad for my family and we all just wish we could take it away. I questioned if to complete the bike ride as the outcome is now so different, but then I thought about all the amazing people who have given towards Ella and my family and I also think of Ella who knew this was all for her. Things soon deteriorated when the nine-year-old began to experience slurred speech and involuntary limb movements. Her cousin Kirsty Eltringham said: "She had fluid on her brain and needed further surgery but we were told she may not wake up. It means so much that Ella-Grace is doing this for her cousin. She is dedicating a song for her on the night. She is proud to be doing this for her and raising awareness for others going through mental health."

Kirstly told the Liverpool Echo: "She pulled through and came around and doctors said if she carried on this way they could restart chemotherapy." Scans were carried out on the nine-year-old from Warrington and they found a tumour on her brain. Tests showed it was cancerous. Ella then underwent an eight and a half hour operation at Alder Hey Children's Hospital to remove it. She's always wanted a pet. But Mr Whiskins has a secret. On the ninth day of the ninth month of her ninth year, he tells Grace-Ella that she is a witch and can start learning magic.
