About this deal

Combine that with the perfect black levels—and also a lack of any blooming—the results can be pretty gorgeous. My initial reaction was a bit fearful because it’s hard to wrap one’s mind around bending a computer monitor. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the complexity added by the flexible panel, other physical adjustments are limited.

While LG and others also have their own monitors using this panel ( LG UltraGear 45GR95QE and Acer Predator X45), uniquely the Corsair screen offers a bendable screen as well! The Flex is so large that its maximum bend is just about right for gaming from a three- to four-foot viewing distance. If you want a more wrap-around feel for something like racing sim gaming, you can bend it to the curve you like. Having two front-facing (or side-facing) USB ports should be a legal requirement for all monitors with a hub.

In certain brighter room conditions blacks look a little more dark grey as the anti-reflective coating reflects some of the surrounding light back at you and it “dulls” the contrast a bit. While the Samsung has a 49-inch screen and the Corsair has a 45-inch screen, the Samsung has a wider 32:9 aspect ratio compared to the 21:9 aspect ratio of the Corsair. It was only a matter of time before bendable displays such as the Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 OLED hit the gaming industry. If you consider OLED gaming monitors to be a cut above, then the Corsair Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240 is a cut above that.

for full on-off response, which is miles better than any LCD monitor, and the refresh rate peaks at 240Hz. The Samsung also has an LED-backlit LCD panel that gets much brighter and doesn't risk burn-in like the Corsair, but the Corsair displays deeper blacks. It has an Orbit setting that's supposed to shift the pixels to avoid image retention, and there's also an Image Retention Refresh setting that initiates a pixel refresh cycle.

With the fairly chunky stand, built in bending mechanism and deep screen foot, the panel doesn’t look any thinner than typical large LCD screens really, so you don’t have that same “look how thin this OLED panel is” aesthetics like you get on some displays. This means there aren't any distracting changes in brightness, but the screen doesn't get very bright either.

One thing worth mentioning is that my review unit never went back to absolutely flat, there was always a very slight amount of waviness to be seen looking along the top edge. The colours, OMG they are amazing and worth the money to make that very expensive GPU shine, the blacks are stunning and the level of visual detail is out of this world and with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 0.While OLED panels offer incredible black levels, full screen brightness on larger panels like this remains a major limitation.

No longer do you have to settle for either a fixed flat or fixed curve screen, you can have the best of both. While its 45-inch screen makes it easy to see more of your work at once, like if you have a big video timeline that you need to work through, it has low pixel density, and images and text aren't sharp. Most large format OLED screens run ABL or automatic brightness limiter algorithms that adjust brightness according to how much of the panel is being driven hard. Featuring a 45-inch bendable OLED display with a WQHD resolution of 3440 x 1440, this monitor delivers stunning visuals and vibrant colors. Corsair say that the OLED panel itself has an almost limitless bending life cycle, and the mechanical bending mechanism structure is targeted to between 10k – 15k life cycles. When doing so, the heavy base and stand does at least remain stable on your desk, you shouldn’t end up moving the whole thing around much.
