About this deal

A scissor switch keyboard has its own independent keyswitch mechanism for each key, which delivers improved tactile response and typing experience. If you’re a serious gamer, then you’re sure to be disappointed when iCue bugs out and you lose your profiles. Low profile switches seem like an interesting choice for a desktop keyboard so we put it to the test to find out how well it performs.

On a final note the mechanical aspect of the 'rapid fire' keys is just excellent for gaming and I would choose those over other types of mechanical key for gaming or typing for that matter. The keyboard is well-factored towards gaming, though: There's full anti-ghosting and 1ms polling to ensure your inputs are read properly, however clumsily you might make them.com is a leading authority on technology, delivering lab-based, independent reviews of the latest products and services. It's on the quieter end, with very little rattle from its bracing, and Corsair has seen fit to give it a texture to match the wrist rest and the alternate gaming keys you'll find in the box. Built in Germany and used by the pros, Cherry MX gaming key switches feature the world’s leading mechanical switch technology. Obviously, this is more or less personal preference, but having a half height Enter key makes a lot more sense to me.

has a host of attractive RGB effects on offer, and while Corsair's lighting here is maybe a couple of lumens dimmer than we've seen on some keyboards, it's still rather impressive. It does come back to that key switch engineering, rather than its height –- squashy inputs, however accurate and quick they may be, can't quite pass that message back up your fingers to your brain--or at least to mine. I’ve been using this keyboard for an embarrassingly long time before reviewing it, and the keycaps don’t really look worn. The per-key lighting is obviously fully customizable and the brightness is just about perfect (and it can be adjusted). It's mainly made out of plastic, and the top plate is aluminum, giving the keyboard a better build than the Corsair K68 RGB, but the keyboard flexes a bit.Everything is perfect materials is goodOnly negative things palm rest plastic and it comes without fps gaming keycaps.

The lack of a gold-plated USB connector will not have any performance impact on the Corsair K70 RGB MK. Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) keycaps such as the ones found on the Cooler Master MasterKeys L PBT are stiffer, harder, and has better color retention, but the ones found on the Corsair K70 RGB MK. Going back to the multimedia keys, you can see that the design is more consistent with the rest of the keys on the board. The frame is made of aircraft-grade anodized brushed aluminum which I think gives this board a premium look and feel. It feels more responsive too due to the Cherry MX Speed keys but these are certainly noticeably louder than the MX Silent ones. From a build quality the K70 MK2 is clearly a premium board and is both lightweight and built to last. However, if you’re gonna shell out money for this keyboard, consider getting the version that has the PBT keycaps as it’s only slightly more expensive and the keycaps will last a lot longer before becoming worn and gross. The unit we tested has tactile Cherry MX Brown switches, and it has many variants available with a range of Cherry MX switch types, as well as a variant with low profile switches.

This keyswitch is desirable for gaming because you will be bottoming out all the keys anyway, but the lack of the "bump" of the Cherry MX Red Low Profile may not appeal to everyone. The keyboard comes with a plastic wrist rest that has a rubber finish to it and feels somewhat hard. If I shine my phone light on it, I can definitely see the areas my fingers touch the most, but it’s otherwise invisible. I don’t understand why iCue doesn’t work like Razer Synapse, allowing you to log in so that you can easily access your settings and profile from any device. We've also added a new Switches test box, added additional test comparisons to our Hardware Customizability test box that we introduced with our last Test Bench. com and PC Magazine are among the federally registered trademarks of Ziff Davis and may not be used by third parties without explicit permission. I will forever miss the volume wheel when I move on to my next board, and the textured WASD keycaps have been a lifesaver while gaming (literally! With an actuation force of 45g in a completely linear fashion, it is about 15g lighter than the MX Black; generally speaking, the Corsair K70 RGB MK. The macro recording system in Corsair iCUE is one of the most comprehensive I have ever seen, while timer will activate a countdown timer that plays a sound, enable an action, and/or initiate a lighting pattern upon completion.
