Let’s take it from the top down. The Apple iPhone Xs is one of three phones launched by Apple in 2018, and it sits in the middle of the range in terms of features, performance and price. At the “bottom” of the 2018 iPhone range is the iPhone XR, which is the cheapest iPhone, then you have this phone – the iPhone Xs – while at the top of the range is the iPhone Xs Max. The reason for this is simple: tapered edges. The Samsung, Sony and OnePlus all taper their rear edges, giving the impression of a thinner device while also allowing them to sit a little better in the curvature of your hand. What's more impressive is that the XS Max manages to squeeze a huge 6.5-inch display into a body that's a touch shorter and narrower (at 157.5 x 77.4mm) than the iPhone 8 Plus, which only boasts a 5.5-inch display. Do you need that performance? Probably not. There’s still nothing that phases the iPhone X, let alone the iPhone Xs, but it should ensure that, as Apple updates its software in the years to come, that it’s more resistant to slowdown.
