About this deal

In Crown of Midnight, the King of Adarlan sent Celaena Sardothien to Wendlyn, the gigantic country to the east of Erilea, where she was supposed to dispatch the royal family. However, at the end of the book, we also found out that Celaena was actually Aelin Ashryver Galathynius, the lost queen of Terrasen, and that she has now actually been sent to the country of her mother. When Rowan realizes she is gone and goes to follow her, he is stopped by Emrys, who admonishes him for his treatment of Aelin, which hurts her rather than helping her. Emrys reveals he knew Evalin, Aelin's mother, when she was at Mistward years ago. Here is when Rowan first realizes that Aelin is not the child he thought she was. Rowan is first seen as closed off, cold, and uncaring, mostly reacting with anger and annoyance at Aelin during the first few months of their training. Later on, after discovering more about Aelin's past, Rowan warms up to Aelin and is kinder and more caring, showing worry when she is hurt or weak. Chaol and Aedion meet in secret, but Dorian finds them, and hears them talking about Celaena/Aelin. He didn’t know this. Chaol explains that he is trying to keep Dorian safe, but Dorian’s like I hate you bro. Aedion then decides to raise a court for his precious Aelin and I cry. Manon is finally reunited with Thirteen and Abraxos, who finds them and brings them to her. Manon asks them if they heard the truth about her parentage and if they will still follow her. Asterin tells her that they will, and once again, the Thirteen give her the gesture honoring a Witch Queen. Manon declares that they must become better than their foremothers. Manon, the Thirteen, and Dorian promise the group that they will find the third Wyrdkey and the Crochan witches to unite them to fight with Aelin.

Lost and broken, Celaena Sardothien’s only thought is to avenge the savage death of her dearest friend: as the King of Adarlan’s Assassin, she is bound to serve this tyrant, but he will pay for what he did. Any hope Celaena has of destroying the king lies in answers to be found in Wendlyn. Sacrificing his future, Chaol, the Captain of the King’s Guard, has sent Celaena there to protect her, but little did he know, she had other plans. If she can overcome her troubles and weakness she will be Adarlan’s biggest threat – and his own toughest enemy. Manon also forms a relationship with Dorian Havilliard in Queen of Shadows and throughout Kingdom of Ash which strengthens her emotions and makes her see more love in the world. After the battle in Eyllwe, it is revealed that Maeve led Rowan to believe that Lyria was his mate and then had her and their unborn child killed to break him. His real mate is Aelin, and they were married discreetly by the ship's captain under the witness of Aedion and Lysandra. He then seeks to find a way to free her from Maeve. Lost and broken, Celaena Sardothien's only thought is to avenge the savage death of her dearest friend: as the King of Adarlan's Assassin, she is bound to serve this tyrant, but he will pay for what he did. Any hope Celaena has of destroying the king lies in answers to be found in Wendlyn. Sacrificing his future, Chaol, the Captain of the King's Guard, has sent Celaena there to protect her, but her darkest demons lay in that same place. If she can overcome them, she will be Adarlan's biggest threat - and his own toughest enemy. While Celaena learns of her true destiny, and the eyes of Erilea are on Wendlyn, a brutal and beastly force is preparing to take to the skies. Will Celaena find the strength not only to win her own battles, but to fight a war that could pit her loyalties to her own people against those she has grown to love? About This Edition ISBN:

During the battle at Orynth, Rowan is greatly saddened when he sees that Gavriel is dead. He brings Gavriel's body to a safe space and keeps fighting Valg soldiers. Manon is an extremely beautiful witch with alabaster skin, long, moon-white hair, and eyes the color of burnt gold. She has the distinct traits for the Ironteeth—a set of retractable iron fangs and nails. After meeting her, both Dorian and Aelin say she is the most beautiful woman they have ever seen. The king then tells them that Sorscha is the true traitor. She kept sending letters to her “friend”, who later turns out to be Ren, telling him of the king’s every move. She never told him about Dorian, though. Amithy has found one of her letters and reported her to the king. Sorscha confesses to everything, hoping that by doing so, she will spare Dorian’s life (she does). The king has her beheaded.

It’s Celaena’s birthday and she turns nineteen. So young. Poor baby. Rowan gets her chocolate, which is awesome. Chaol meets with his father, who tells him he has two months before he has to come to Anielle. Dorian has been sparring and gets another injury. He meets Sorscha and asks her about where she came from (a small town in Fenharrow, her parents were murdered). He’s very intrigued.

Every slice of the whetting stone had echoed it. Coward, coward, coward. The word had trailed her each league across the ocean. Sorscha treats Chaol, Dorian, Aelin, and Fleetfoot's wounds after their battle with the monster in the catacombs, though at this point, her name is still unknown to them.
