About this deal

The Stolen Earth is spectacular. This doesn’t mean it’s great. I’d contend that the best episodes of the new series, Human Nature, Blink, Utopia, achieve greatness without spectacle. The Aztecs – some people may want this, i don’t know if a historical would be easy to sell and given that it does already have two dvd releases For me, despite the claims of the production team at the time, the world of Art Deco and Dalek design don’t gel easily. In all, the season three Dalek episodes have the appearance of a desire to include the Daleks regardless of story. The first episode in the box set reintroduces the Daleks by surprisingly presenting them in the singular. The intention of this is to delay the impact of seeing an army of Daleks in the climax of the first season, but it also has a more subtle effect. Pitting the new Doctor and Rose against a single, at first seemingly defenceless Dalek, slowly reveals to the viewer the antagonistic relationship between the Time Lord and the monster.

The penultimate episode of season four manages (just about successfully) to cram in all the tenth Doctor’s previous companions and to link the previously unlinkable worlds of the Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood without contradicting the ethos of either series. It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were getting excited about ‘Power of the Daleks’ being animated. However after the way 2020 has turned out so far, the release in 2016 feels like a lifetime ago! Why should you invest in this new version? The Time Meddler – given that they have done this for tales of the tardis, seems unlikely, but a great story I kind of like the fact the original episodes themselves aren’t being colourised, and that it is a new format for the story, traditionalists can then see the original, and newbies or the interested people can get into this colourised version! I mean they have cut a seven parter into the runtime of a three parter, Tenth PLanet, being so slow, could end up being 45-50 minutes long if they did the animation. You will be able to watch the colourised edition on iPlayer after it airs on 23rd November, but of course, fans will still buy the physical version in their droves. Considering we rely so heavily on streaming nowadays, and that we actually don’t own any of that content anyway, getting it on DVD or Blu-ray seems a fair enough idea anyway.

We only have three stories complete, Gunfighters would be a bit dull, and the Ark is a good story as is the War machines, just don’t think either of them have that legendary wow factor… The teaser at the end was great. Though I think promised more than it could deliver. More look what we can do than this is what is coming. For instance, are they going to colourise the single remaining episode of the Celestial Toymaker ? Oppenheimer | Christopher Nolan on the Blu-ray where “no evil streaming service can come steal it from you”The Daleks," the first Dalek story in Doctor Who,is getting a remastered and colourised glow-up for the 60th Anniversary. Returning showrunner Russell T. Davies and producer Phil Collinson announced that the original serial from the 1963 first season would be recut into a 75-minute movie for younger viewers to discover anew. And it will get a physical media release after its premiere on BBC4 in the UK. So with RTDs involvement in these, and the fact we will see more of these, what other stories do people think may come? Im gonna say something like one release a year, perhaps for each birthday for Doctor Who, this time eveyr year perhaps depending on the story size… given he is staying four probably four seasons at least, or so it seems, we have four years after this year… Originally transmitted from December 1963 to February 1964, The Daleks were introduced to audiences and soon became one of the Doctor's most formidable and enduring foes. The story follows the very first crew of the TARDIS as they land in a petrified forest on an alien planet. Determined to explore, the Doctor ( William Hartnell) leads his companions into the metal city, where they discover the danger at every corner and what will become his deadliest enemy, the mutant Daleks.Once again the snippets of the original broadcast episodes that survive are presented. However, some very brief fragments of footage have only been made available recently and so are being seen for the first time by many. They might only be a few frames, some on a loop, but these tantalising glimpses of Lesterson watching the Daleks replicate are hugely exciting. Archive regional news clips which also feature Daleks have similarly been unearthed only recently. As with these clips of Dalek appearances in the real world, there are also modern features from Newsnight and BBC Breakfast regarding the original animation and lost TV. The Power of the Daleks Animation (c) BBC Though the truncated 75-minute version of The Daleks will first air on BBC4 on the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who (i.e. 23rd November 2023), 12th February 2024 will see the 75-minute version of this Terry Nation-scripted story colourised and out on physical formats.

You can experience Jeff Rowe's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem on DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra HD very soon! Compared with the previous Dalek episodes, these seem small and contained. In the context of the mythologizing arc claimed by this box set the story becomes a filler between the Emperor Dalek and Davros, almost a Dalek holiday. The concept of a human/Dalek hybrid is suitably creepy and well done, but I can’t help preferring the realisation of a similar idea in Revelation Of The Daleks. I’m not a huge fan of the endlessly repeated ‘surprise’ appearances of Daleks at the end of the season, but if you are going to include them, it is best to make them the centre of the story. This criticism cannot be levelled at the final two episodes in this box set. Originally transmitted from December 1963 to February 1964, The Daleks introduced one of the Doctor’s most formidable and enduring foes. A glimpse at upcoming UK Steelbook release dates until early 2024: here’s what’s getting the fancy treatment and when. It’s been my absolute pleasure to spend this past 12 months working with such a talented team to breathe new life into this classic adventure - a story that is literally the foundation stone of all that Doctor Who has become. The original is a masterpiece of 1960’s television drama and this new version stands on the shoulders of the pioneering spirit of 1960’s Doctor Who.” The box set comes with one special feature: an interview with David Tennant. This doesn’t really contribute anything new and is more self-congratulatory than analytical. Indeed ,a great deal of time is spent during the interview talking about Doomsday, only drawing attention to the episode’s absence from the collection. The Tomb of the Cybermen – they gotta have one of the cybermen stories, and this is the only complete one, not to mention a classic! And also I am sure they will do a troughton one
