After several hundred miles of use, the EPS shell construction has revealed no pressure points on the temple or elsewhere about my pointy skull.

In addition to external ventilation system, Giro have added channels on the inside of the helmet liner to act as exhausts for releasing the hot air build up inside the helmet. A total of twenty one vents aim to drag air across the head keeping you cool on a ride, including large, rear facing ports to aid continuous airflow.This helmet can withstand the full impact of an accident flawlessly, thanks to its durable In-Mold construction, Coolmax padding, and the Roc Loc 5 fit system with two-way fit adjustment.

The RocLoc 5 twist retention system, which is also found on the Synthe, makes fitting and adjustment easy, even when riding with gloves on. The company has arguably increased it's profile with the Giro Synthe, one of the most popular helmets on the market. With Roc Loc 5, you can easily dial-in both fit tension and adjust vertical position with a single hand.Whilst the ventilation system is impressive, unfortunately the foam padding at the front of the helmet is split into right and left sections and did little to prevent the sweat from dripping out of the helmet and into my eyes. The 21 open, deep vents increase air-flow through the whole helmet and out through an almost exhaust-like vent setup at the rear. I have to say that this was NOT the case on every ride and despite the pads being thin, they do not compromise the comfort of the Giro Foray. The Giro Foray MIPS is one of the least expensive helmets in our lineup, yet includes a bunch of the same features that are found on its costlier competitors. The Foray MIPS drafts off the bold design language of our premium Synthe helmet, and offers many of our key features including durable In-Mold construction and the Roc Loc 5 fit system with two-way fit adjustment.

While this makes it easy to adjust the overall fit of the helmet, the headband system ends near the temples where it is anchored to the EPS foam liner, which means the front of the helmet sits directly on your head. Ok the helmet itself has excellent ventilation and a clever airflow system but for those riders who sweat a lot, the thin padding doesn't quite do enough to channel the sweat away from the face.
