Almost light at the beginning, dry, a bit shy, with a sourish fruitiness, linseed oil, a bit musty, the oak is not directly recognizable, but more associable with the musty sourish.

This distillery now has a huge following amongst peat loving drinkers and collectors alike, with their annual release bottles being made available exclusively to committee members, older bottlings from this distillery are now highly sought after. Ardbeg distillery was officially founded in 1815 by Duncan Macdougall, although it’s thought that the distillery was making spirit before then.
