About this deal

Resistant to high temperatures, the Creative Products Squidgy Thing can be used as an oven glove too – and the non-slip material is perfect for unscrewing tight jars and containers, making it the ideal kitchen companion. However, as I suspected, it doesn't quite have the scrubbing power of an ordinary washing up sponge, but it does work perfectly adequately on most surfaces. It works particularly well to wash awkward items like kitchen gadgets and cheese graters, but it doesn't get into all the crevices of a pan handle easily. I've found that folding it in half works better when working around these sorts of items, and maybe it's just a different technique that I need to get used to.

Putty: A highly malleable material that can be used as a toy, or in construction and repair as a sealant. Squid: Soft-bodied marine animals with two tenacles. Known for their ability to spray ink as a defensive mechanism. Flower Petals: The modified leaves on a plant. They are much softer and smoother than normal leaves. Polenta: Boiled cornmeal that can be served as a type of porridge or can be pressed into a loaf that is then grilled, baked or fried. Puppy: While some dogs have coarse fur that isn’t very soft or smooth, puppies tend to be much sufter.

Dumplings: When dumplings are fried, they become crunchy, but are very soft when steamed or boiled. Mashed Potato: A dish made of mashed potatoes, sometimes with butter and cream or milk stirred through. And speaking of Camilla’s children, her son Tom Parker Bowles told The Times (via The Express) in 2014, “I sort of remember not looking at the paper. Because, you know, Jesus, the things we’ve all said to people that we love. That you wouldn’t want the whole world reading.” Tissue: Since tissues are used to wipe our faces, they’re very soft to prevent scratching and irritation.

The shape of the tail will tell you if it’s a female (with a broad, oval tail) or male (with a narrow and triangular tail). Like shrimps and lobsters, crabs are crustaceans – animals with a hard shell that live in water. Creme Brulee: Also known as Trinity cream, burnt cream or burned cream. A dessert with a custard base and a topping of burnt caramelised sugar. Gesso: A mixture used to prepare surfaces for painting. It’s soft and squishy until it dries down to a hard surface. Rice: A wild grain that is a staple food in many countries. It’s soft and fluffy when freshly cooked.

Squidgygate is a different event altogether, but it does shed some light on what was going on in England’s tabloid culture at the time. Squidgygate went down in 1992 and was eerily similar to Tampongate in that a random person was said to have “accidentally” tapped into a call between Princess Diana and her friend James Gilbey using his radio. This conversation was actually recorded in early January 1990, but The Sun published it in August 1992—dubbing the incident Squidgygate. Why that name, you ask, in a panic? Because James called Diana “Squidgy” and “Squidge” multiple times.
