About this deal

A tasty, if not always tasteful, tale of supernatural mayhem that fans of King and Crichton alike will enjoy.

About — T.M.Logan About — T.M.Logan

Now, Joe’s life is unraveling. His wife has lied to him. Her deception has put their entire family in jeopardy. The man she met at the hotel has vanished. And as the police investigate his disappearance, suspicion falls on Joe. The psychological aspect of this story was off the charts. It had a wonderful start, pulling me in immediately. However, I got bogged down in the middle as too many scenarios had my brain spinning. Fortunately, the last half took a turn and was impossible to put down. The ending was exciting and there’s a sweet little twist at the end. I enjoyed the story despite that slow down in the middle. That’s two books by this author that provided compelling reading experiences and he’s now an auto read. 3.5 stars Thrillers are my favourite genre of book, but this is definitely one I am going to remember. Over the last few chapters my heart was racing, my hands and legs shaking. I was on the edge of my seat desperate to find out what happened. The writing flooded my body with adrenaline and was simply amazing. I particularly loved the chapters from the perspectives of other characters. Giving insight into their thoughts and reasonings. Rowan is the hostess and she’s the one who secured the luxury villa for the group. She’s about to sell her company and wants everything to go just right. Rowan is married and has a precocious daughter Odette. That little girl highlights a problem with this group though...that the parents don't seem to have control of their children and have no idea what their children are up to. The entire group is pretty messed up, no wonder so many "things" happen to them. While the parents are dealing badly with what is going on between them, the teenagers have their own problems that may outweigh those of the parents.A brilliant book by TM Logan who seems to always make you wonder what you would do in the same situation and always writes a gripping and faced paced thriller and this is no exception. THE CATCH, about a father convinced his daughter is about to marry a man with terrible secrets, has also been made into a TV drama for Channel 5 starring Jason Watkins, Poppy Gilbert, Aneurin Barnard and Cathy Belton (screened Jan-Feb 2023, available on My5). Another sweltering month in Charlotte, another boatload of mysteries past and present for overworked, overstressed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan.

Lies by T.M. Logan | Waterstones

Well, truly I hate the guts of the characters. I didn’t care what will happen to them! I didn’t care one of them die, hurt, get abused, terrorized, kidnapped, wounded etc. But I have to admit they’re the ensemble to get awarded as the worst unlikeable characters, have no idea why they’re created! Kate, Izzy, Jennifer and Rowan have been friends forever. They decide to take their families and vacation together at a luxurious villa in France. Sounds wonderful right? Beautiful location, good friends, good food, relaxing times -- except it is not for Kate who believes her husband is having an affair with one of her friends! I should also mention I paid full price for it. And that I have been WAITING AND WAITING to read it. This was a must read for me. But it is one of my biggest let down of the year. Even though the book's ending never, ever could have happened in real life.....it was a strong ending. The long wait to get to those final chapters, however, was painful. The extent of Ryan’s disturbing hunting behavior is also made clear in The Catch book ending. Prior to his demise, he explained in his narrative that he pre-dug graves on the moors and filled them with a lilo to keep the shape so they were ready for his victims. He also had night-vision goggles and drugs ready for use too and it was made clear that Abbie was part of his cover, not the end of his desire to carry on killing. How could Channel 5’s The Catch ending differ?

With Kate it’s her sixteen year old daughter Lucy transitioning into adulthood, whilst Izzy is the single one of the group - there’s a nice blend of characters. TRUST ME was the second book I read about a woman giving her baby to a complete stranger at a random moment. WOMAN ON THE EDGE by Samantha Baily was the first. Ellen (41) was a heroine who I connected with right away. She was easy to identify with and care about. I felt sorry for her... a miscarriage, going through fertility issues, her husband walking away from her, discovering that he will be a father soon... it all must have hurt her a lot. I was born in Berkshire and grew up in Reading, the youngest of three boys and a fully-fledged bookworm from a very young age. I read history at Westfield College, part of the University of London, and went on to do a postgrad at Cardiff University. Told over a short period of less than a week, each chapter is fairly short and narrated from various perspectives; from Ellen’s in the first person which gives a greater insight into her personality and with everyone else in the third person.

Logan’s The Catch book ending explained - breaking down T. M Logan’s

The Catch book ending then jumped to a year later when Claire and Abbie were laying flowers on Ed and his son’s graves. Ed’s body had been found on the moor, as had the bodies of Ryan’s first wife Lori, his foster mother Eileen and two other unidentified women. By this time Abbie had given birth to her and Ryan’s son and the final words of the book reveal that his eyes were, “His father’s eyes”.

Customer reviews

This book had more characters than narrators and at times, it was difficult to identify who was who.

LIES by T.M. Logan — Crime by the Book Book Review: LIES by T.M. Logan — Crime by the Book

I can’t say I really liked any of the characters. Their faults seemed to outweigh their good qualities. Not folks I would want to vacation with! If there is one thing you can be sure of with a book by this author – it will be a fast paced, addictive read. I’ve read most of his books and enjoyed each one, so I was so looking forward to Trust Me. Was I disappointed. Absolutely not. This started off on a train, and I like these settings. They seem to remind me of Liam Neeson being a transit worker (or what is it when they are on a plane and have authority?) A marshal. That's it. I think Ellen that was minding her own business that fateful day may have needed the help of someone like the awesome Mr Neeson!

Need Help?

Joe and William follow Mel into the garage. And then things become stranger. The garage is attached to a hotel, and Mel is nowhere in sight. Following her path inside, Joe and William finally spot her talking to their friend Ben. But something about the conversation seems off… Why are they in a hotel? And why do both Ben and Mel look so upset? Joe knows that he has brought his son into a moment he shouldn’t have. The story is littered with plenty of red herrings and great chapter cliffhangers that makes this addictive reading. If you’ve yet to read T.M. Logan’s The Catch book then you might well be a little surprised by the changes that have reportedly been made to the Collier family and their home in the gripping Channel 5 show. In the Channel 5 drama which starts on January 25, as per RadioTimes.com, the setting is now the coast of the South West of England where Ed is a fisherman. Author Logan was born to a German mother and an English father in Berkshire. He studied at Cardiff and Queen Mary universities and obtained his graduate degrees. Immediately after, Logan started working as a journalist at a national newspaper. Currently, he works as a full-time writer and resides in Nottinghamshire along with his wife and children. Logan has built a cabin for himself in his garden where he normally finds the quiet and peace to work on his novels. He says that he has been writing fiction for a long time, but didn’t think seriously about getting his work published. It was only after he hit his mid-30s that he began to take it seriously with the intention of becoming a published author. Subsequently, Logan started devoting a proper amount of time for his writing work and pushed towards finishing a full-length book. His first work of fiction is still left unpublished. After the first half of the book it became a very addictive read. I was captivated in the story and couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next. I was so intrigued. It was a big surprise with jaw dropping moments and lots of twists and turns. This was not a predictable read at all.
