Caran d’Ache Luminance 6901 Free 100 Color Swatch Chart Caran d’Ache Luminance 6901 Free 100 Color Swatch Chart

A bar chart showing the neutral colours in the 100 Caran d’Ache Luminance range. The blue line represents the earlier 76 range. The orange line represents additional pencils. The search button on the right hand side above the table is the global search button and it searches all columns within the table. The search bar above each column searches for information with in that column. For your knowledge, it’s advisable to draw up your own colour chart so that you can get to know the actual colours of your pencils. You will then be able to see how your pencil performs on the papers that you use for your drawings.

If you have a set of the previous 76 range of pencils, you can find out more about them in a previous blog post. So, if you’ve make your own charts – that’s great. But – as is practical, you might also have your charts in one physical place while you draw in another. You need to have access to the colours where you are – hopefully, you’ll be there with internet access and your mobile, tablet or laptop. Interactive Luminance colour chart Wow! I’ve been trying to do my own tri tone book using luminance but struggling so I for one am so happy to see this! When looking at the 100 range as a whole, all colours (including the colour wheel family colours and neutrals) are shown in the bar chart below.

Using a soft, wax based pencil is ideal for artists like me who like to layer extensively. A softer pencil allows for smoother layers and numerous applications for those who like to create highly detailed art or like smooth transitions. Although the Luminance pencils may not keep their point as long to create very fine lines, like the harder oil-based brands like the Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, keeping them sharp whilst using certain techniques will help you achieve the fine detail regardless. I wonder how much research has gone into the colour selection as they offer a great range ofpale tones and bright, vibrant colours. There are very few pencil ranges that offer such subtle tones of browns and greys, perfect for pet & portraiture work which is the basis of the majority of my pencil work. I also like the fact that they make these pencils with cedar wood that is FSC certified making them a very eco-friendly pencil range"Luminance 6901 artist’s pencils, specifically designed by Caran d’Ache in its Geneva Manufacture with colour image professionals in mind, reaffirm the high quality standards of the Maison. Its delicate texture, along with the vibrancy of the many recently developed shades, open up exciting new vistas in the realms of overlaying, mixed techniques and gradation and the new leads are designed for works intended for exhibition, collection and museum purposes. " Of the additional pencils, 17 have the highest lightfast rating of I, and 7 have a rating of II. Therefore, of the total 100 pencil range, 78 pencils have a lightfast rating of I, and 22 pencils have a lightfast rating of II. The 100 Luminance colours I have also completed a review of these beautiful Caran D'ache Luminance pencils on my YouTube channelwhere I have conducted a few test's which are better witnessed, so if you are interested follow the link and watch the video.
