About this deal

The HeadRush FRFR-108 is a 2000 watt, full-range, flat-response, powered guitar cabinet featuring a specially-voiced 8-inch woofer and high frequency compression driver, XLR/TRS combo inputs, Contour EQ, ground-lift switch, XLR out and more. Be you a touring guitar player, a seasoned session guitar player, or even an aspiring beginner, a guitar cabinet (cab for short) will always have a place in your chain of gears–a very important place, for that matter.

It's a little more expensive than the 112, and it's rated at 200 W (not 2000) but it is plenty loud with a lot of bottom end (it's a deep ported closed back cab). Fwiw, for me, being able to finally use fullrange amplification all throughout (in the past I only did so in case someone kinda pointed a gun to my head, such as theatre directors demanding "No sound on stage! I change the output of the HX Stomp to line (instead of instrument) and connected the cable to the input of the Headrush speaker.Perfect for a more authentic front-of-house sound with bigger drivers and woofers and to give you more power!

Personally, I'm perfectly happy with an Alto TS310 (which seem to be pretty similar to the Headrush offerings). It might lose a bit of clarity at very high volumes, but then again, it is made for rooms and small venues, not big crowds.

I agree, I've got a DXR12 that I've used with the Kemper live for a couple of years and I've practiced in the house with it. Its specially-voiced 12-inch woofer and high-frequency compression driver deliver a precise, full response across the entire frequency range, without any artificial coloration—which is absolutely critical to conveying the artist’s intent. I had a powered speaker in the form of a DXR10 and same as other things, unless you crank it, you won't get the best from it. Don't worry because this article will provide you with an honest, objective, and detailed comparison of the Headrush FRFR 112 vs 108.

The HeadRush FRFR-112 just like the FRFR-108 is a lightweight 2000-watt full-range, flat-response powered cabinet that perfectly complements your HeadRush Pedalboard, Gigboard, or any other multi-FX/amp modeller. The HR FRFR series are known to be boomy, and without the DSP options of more expensive speakers are not as "crisp" and "bright". I usually place it like a typical monitor because on most gigs (pretty much all) I play there's a PA.I'm on the fence in terms of ditching the Headrush and getting a relatively inexpensive 112 cabinet (used) coupled with an EHX magnum power amp. Thanks to a conveniently located Contour EQ switch, the FRFR-108 guarantees to cut through muddy sounding stage mixes for perfect monitoring every time! And if you live in a house vs an apartment and aren't worried about waking the kids or being murdered by your wife. About their designs, if you are not a professional music player, you probably won't be able to distinguish which one is the Headrush FRFR 108 and which one is the Headrush FRFR 112. Plus, the added benefits of a Ground-Lift switch allow you to quickly identify and resolve any signal buzz or unwanted feedback issues during your soundcheck.
