Hatcha - a man who needs little introduction.Originally a buyer for the iconic Big Apple record store in Croydon, Hatcha’s always had his finger on the pulse with new music. Helping to form the dubstep scene, in the early days when garage was getting darker and crossing over into other genres, he was picked up quickly by those around him. Becoming a resident for one of dubstep’s most renowned parties, FWD>>, back in 2001, he went from strength to strength over the next decade. Gaining a name for himself through playing upfront dubplates, Hatcha quickly stepped up to becoming headline material for FWD>>, as well as landing himself radio slots on Rinse FM & Kiss 100. With exclusive access to Skream & Benga’s dubplates, and being booked at all the scene’s most respected parties, Hatcha played no small part in helping to craft the dubstep scene in the early 2000’s. Continually flicking back and forth between UKG & dubstep, Hatcha has retained his status over the years, still playing at parties, clubs and festivals all over the world. It gives us great pleasure to welcome him down for a UKG classics set this June.F O U N D A T I O N SEvery Friday in the Patterns basement£5 before 12 with your name on the wall23:00 – 04:00Brighton’s best collectives, resident DJs, MCs and special guests representing the finest UK sounds each and every week.
