We had no responsiveness issues, but we also haven't noticed any gaming sluggishness in other flagship phones we've tested this year.
When we benchmarked the Galaxy S22 against the S22 Ultra, we found the Geekbench scores to be essentially equal. Both phones’ scores are still generally lower than Apple's A16 Bionic’s, though. I tested cellular signal strength with the Net Monitor app and got very similar 4G/5G signal test results between the S22 and S22+. The S22 supports all of the 5G networks in the US, and, like its siblings, offers better connectivity than models from the S21 generation, particularly in low-signal environments. Using S Pen as a stylus does not require battery power. Actual battery life may vary depending on usage patterns and other factors. I'm that 5G guy. I've actually been here for every "G." The phone is IP68 rated, which makes it water and dust-resistant. In practice, a drop in the sink is no big deal.
As I mentioned, battery life is the S22's major issue. The phone has only a 3,700mAh battery. For comparison, the S22+ has a 4,500mAh battery and the S22 Ultra has a 5,000mAh cell. Although the other phones have bigger screens, that difference doesn't matter much in terms of energy use. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a do-everything device that presents few compromises. It is good for photography, multi-tasking your work, and watching Netflix, however, the high price might put off some buyers. It's not clear why Samsung shrunk the Galaxy S22's battery down by 300mAh, from a capacity of 4,000mAh on the S21 to 3,700mAh here, but it doesn't appear to have much of an impact. We got roughly 12 hours of battery life with varied and almost constant use. Your mileage may vary. S Pen's operable distance extends approximately 10 meters from the device in open space. Control range may vary depending on surroundings and other factors. To accommodate the 10MP front-facing camera, Samsung has cut a small circle in the display. It's not distracting, and didn’t break our immersion through long games of PUBG Mobile.

Samsung evidently opted not to stray far from the Galaxy S21 design from the previous year, but there are two differences - one is noticeable, the other not so much. None of this is to say the Galaxy S22 feels slow. It has more than enough power for casual mobile tasks (web browsing, app work) and extra juice for videos, games, 4K video shooting, and editing. The 8K video shoot was a stuttering disaster, but otherwise, we were pleased.
Certain resolutions and ratios may not be supported. Certain functions may not be available when Auto Framing is on. Only people can be recognized, and there is a limit to how many people may be recognized.
Small, brimming with upgrades, and eminently useful

At 5.75 by 2.78 by 0.29 inches (HWD) and 5.93 ounces, the phone is smaller and lighter than the Galaxy S21 (5.97 by 2.80 by .31 inches, 6.03 ounces), as well as any of the other models in the S22 lineup and the Google Pixel 6 (6.24 by 2.94 by 0.35 inches, 7.30 ounces). I wouldn't call it a mini phone, but I can get my thumb across the screen in one stretch.
