About this deal

To be honest, the car doesn’t look particularly fancy, it’s a very lightweight, plastic car with minimal features but it has to be to ensure it’s light enough to whizz round the walls. Ford Lio Ho makes the Ford Festiva (based on the previous generation Mazda 121), the Ford Laser and the Ford Telstar, as well as commercial vehicles based on the Mazda Bongo. A light indicator directly underneath the remotes power switch blinks red while charging, then blinks red and green when the charging is done, and you're ready to go.

Using patented Wall Climber Technology, this lightweight car drives on floors, up walls and even upside down on the ceiling! In the early 1990s, Plymouth's bread and butter lineup still consisted of K-car-derived cars and minivans; the Laser simply did not fit into this group. The fact that the Laser was far different from any other product Plymouth was selling at the time did not help its popularity. The extended production model in New Zealand was sold only in five-door hatchback form as either the Laser Encore or Laser Esprit, as a cheaper alternative to the newer KJ Laser imported from Japan.

With multi-directional control, just point the laser light anywhere you want the Zero Gravity Laser to go!Fuel-injection and a 115 PS turbocharged model were added in July 1983; these variants were never offered for sale outside Japan. It came standard with 14-inch satin-chrome alloy wheels, sports cloth interior trim, red insert strips in the body side mouldings and bumpers, black tailgate and beaver panel garnishes, semi-bucket seats with adjustable seat height, back and lumbar support, auto fade interior lamps, and all other Ghia appointings.

US versions of the Tracer were built in Mexico at Ford's Hermosillo Stamping and Assembly plant, whereas for the Canadian market, Ford opted to import the Mercury Tracer from Taiwan's Ford Lio Ho Motor instead. A notable change was the introduction of engines capable of running on 91 RON unleaded petrol (this became mandatory in Australia from 1986).litre engine, no power features, steel wheel with hubcaps and 2-DIN head unit, and was sold until June 2004. Its gravity-defying feat of driving on walls and ceilings means a lot of fun for kids, as long as you can stand the noise it sometimes generates. The optimal distance between the remote control car and the laser spot is 0-20 CM (When exceeding the distance, our car may not be sensed). In New Zealand, the Laser was sold as both a hatchback and sedan, the Meteor name not being used in that market, and was later joined by the Mazda 323 at the renamed Vehicle Assemblers of New Zealand (VANZ) plant in Wiri, Auckland in a joint venture between Ford New Zealand and Mazda.
