About this deal

But it all starts to become unraveled when you realize you are reading about these extremely experienced and literally hand crafted beings of battle coupled with the supposed greatest minds in the systems and yet they are constantly being duped by betrayal. Sevro is my absolute favorite character of the whole entire series (very closely followed by Victra) and I neeeeed him to not die in the next book. While not as gut-wrenching and nail-biting as the Dark Ages, it delivered all that I hoped for, and more.

Going into Light Bringer I was afraid of what would happen to my favorite characters, especially everyone’s favorite goblin Severo. To paraphrase, he said that he never played them *as* villains, because no one is a villain to themselves. It is mentioned briefly here and there both to update us on what the current situation is and to talk about the ramifications it had on the characters that were involved. I’ve had this feeling since Iron Gold that Pierce is setting up the death of the Reaper, and the title of book 7 does not give me much hope to the contrary. He is the kind of author who isn’t afraid to destroy the heart of his readers with his words and I know I can trust him to emotionally damage me and then build me back up with his books. I have read plenty of books where certain clues will make me roll my eyes and predict the death or unlikely salvation, and that’s not the case with Brown’s writing. This review is going to assume you’ve read through the end of *Morning Star* (as that point represents a major paradigm shift). His characters have a genuineness to them and consistently stay true to themselves as they evolve and grow.

Lyria and Volga are imprisoned by Victra, but manage to break free of their captivity when the Ascomanni lay siege to their ship. I should mention that I also feel enraged by the actions of some, from self-serving greed to the hierarchy and trappings of the colors. i loved all of the different characters meeting each other, the standouts were definitely diomedes cassius and lyria. It also contains spoilers for this book itself, and while those are in spoiler tags, they do not work on the mobile app.

Pierce stated that there's one particular death that he wrote in this book that he "bawled [his] eyes out. Brown announced a sequel trilogy in February 2016, [13] to begin with the novel Iron Gold in August 2017. The Syndicate Queen arrives and is revealed to be Lilath, who has given birth to a now 10-year-old clone of Virginia's deceased brother Adrius 'The Jackal'. As of February 2016, the film was still in development, with Brown having written the first two drafts.

So this continued blind spot of betrayal that is never learned from by the brightest minds of the society is glaring and serves as a huge distraction to the story.Yes, the war is waging on, there are moments of military campaigns that are well played out here that Pierce describes in breathtaking prose.

These scenes are so relatable because it makes these giants of war and destruction feel so utterly human. I love the characters and the writing is well done on the level of how it makes you feel as if you could be there. Here, we’re going to see how Darrow and Virginia have managed to actually lead this new government and society. His growth as a character throughout this series, and especially throughout this second part of the Saga, is nothing short of masterful. Even though I’m going to avoid specific spoilers past that point, I’m writing this review for people who have read through *Dark Age* and want a sense of what to expect. The only complaint I have right now is that there will be another wait for the next book to be released. I think my favorite part about this book was the relationship that developed between Lyria and Cassius.
