About this deal

Use the new HDMI cable provided to connect the TV Box to your TV. Take a note of the name of the HDMI port you have connected to, e.g. HDMI 1. The splitter’s impedance should match the impedance of connected devices. For instance, for OTA TV, this is 75 ohms

Made an aesthetically pleasing small Oak box on the inside of the wall where the TV and broadband comes in to the building (forget the phone) and: For instance, over-the-air TV signals in the US generally vary between 41 MHz and 608 MHz, so if you use a splitter rated for OTA TV for signals from your satellite dish, it may not work since satellite TV ranges up to 2000 MHz. I've had VM installers use the cable I've installed without even noticing that it isn't the cable that Virgin Media use. I've also had them knowingly use my cable after asking them if they'd mind not using their own. The splitter outside the house (on the pic above - btw - by old, do you mean the cable connectors? We were only connected up last year, but I guess the original - Nynex probably- fittings are still in use - just the splitter and second cable box coax are new. I'd probably leave that to Virgin if I'm honest, although I have 20 odd F/aeriel connections to make up). Ensure as well that the impedance of the splitter matches what you’re connecting it to. For example, televisions and the like are 75-ohm devices, so your splitter should be rated for this impedance. Not quite sure whether it's worth speaking to virgin about this, or going ahead and purchasing a 2 way online. Obviously there would still be the original 2 way splitter outside the house... Your SuperHub and internet provision has nothing to do with the provision of cable TV and the TiVo. The second TiVo box will be installed by Virgin media in the location you decide upon.
