About this deal

To bolster these beliefs, theorists spin alternative explanations of the airport's odd decor. For example, an inlay in the floor with the symbols for "gold" (Au) and "silver," (Ag) referencing Colorado's mining history, become a secret message about a made-up pathogen known as the Australian Antigen. A mural decrying war and wishing for world peace becomes a warning about a totalitarian future. Some conspiracy theorists believe the ruling class want to enslave the masses and make them eat insects. (Image credit: egal/Getty Images) Most people know Mount Rushmore as one of the most recognizable landmarks in the US as the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt are carved into it. In the late ‘80s, Bill Finnegan was gigging bars and clubs in Boston, when he noticed that at smaller venues, sound engineers were asking him to turn the volume down. He played a Telecaster through a Fender Tweed Twin, and says that the “sweet spot” on the amp was around 6 or 7 on the volume. When he was forced to turn down to 3 or 4 he lost the harmonic richness of the amp.

I placed it for a clean boost and over all enhancement type pedal. I won't say it's "better" than other Klon clone pedals, but it certainly does the deal for a lot less. Tripps tweaked on this circuit and it sounds like a Klon but like I said it has differences, good or bad, Si diodes (but toned down in harshness), only 9v internally far as I know, and no Klon buffer present. The idea that the U.S. government (or perhaps the entire world government) is run by reptilian humanoids is … out there, to say the least. And yet, people holding this belief have done real damage. For example, a man who detonated a bomb in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, on Christmas Day 2020 had written a friend about his belief that lizard people walked the planet, disguised as humans. Warner killed himself, damaged 41 buildings, and injured three in the bombing. Admittedly, it sounds terminally wimpy to conclude with, “Gosh, they all sound great." But it just happens to be true. (Well, they are clones!) I'd use any of these onstage or in the studio without hesitation. Your choice may be more about price and pedal size than any minor tonal discrepancies. President John Kennedy rides in a motorcade from the Dallas airport into the city with his wife Jacqueline and Texas Governor John Connally. (Image credit: Bettmann / Getty Images)The Birds Aren't Real conspiracy is a movement developed by Peter McIndoe, 23, who started spreading the idea in 2017. Until a December 2021 interview in the New York Times, McIndoe stayed in-character as a true believer, insisting in media interviews and online that birds aren't real, but rather they are surveillance drones made by the U.S. government. Birds Aren't Real has a staff; it has organized real-life protests; it bought real-life billboards; and it emblazoned vans with their claim. The goal, says McIndoe, is to parody the misinformation that Gen Z finds itself stewing in. The pinnacle was Geraldo Rivera's infamous NBC special "Devil Worship: Exposing Satan's Underground," which aired on Oct. 28, 1988. Rivera relied on self-proclaimed "Satanism experts," misleading and inaccurate statistics, crimes with only tenuous links to Satanism, and sensationalized media reports. It was the most-viewed documentary in television history. "There are over one million Satanists in this country," Rivera said, adding that "The odds are, [they] are in your town." Far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones founded Infowars in 1999. On the platform, Jones has repeatedly promoted baseless conspiracy theories such as "Pizzagate" and claims that the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, which killed 26 people, was staged, and that the victims were crisis actors. The conspiracy was described in a 1976 self-published book, "We Never Went to the Moon: America's Thirty Billion Dollar Swindle," and a 1978 movie, "Capricorn One." Even as late as 2001, there was a Fox documentary, "Conspiracy Theory: Did We Land on the Moon?" that gave air time to the claims that the whole Apollo moon-landing program was faked.

People who agree with the first two statements have a more intuitive thinking style, while those who agree with the latter two have a more analytical thinking style. John F. Kennedy was shot in 1963 in a Dallas motorcade. But did Lee Harvey Oswald act alone? Or was there a second gunman on the grassy knoll? Please Note: None of these accusations are actually accurate. At least, that's just what THEY want you to think... Way Huge Smalls Conspiracy Theory Distortion Pedal Specs The original Klon klone, The Archer was the first 100% part for part remake of the fabled Centaur and remains one of the best. The Ikon is a slight variant on the standard Archer, which has slightly more midrange compression and less presence for a smoother, less bright sound. Way Huge Conspiracy Theory Hear for yourself: As mentioned, most of the Klon's overdrive comes from the TL072 op amp. The clipping diodes are only a factor at high-gain settings. For the clearest comparison of diode color, listen to the second halves of the clips in the Gain Control playlist, where the gain knobs are at maximum. Even here, the two tones are quite similar. The Soul Food is a little brighter at the very top end, and the Klon has a wee bit more weight under 100 Hz. But these differences are far from dramatic.

Alternatives

If you want a klone that both sounds the part and looks the part, then the Ceriatone Centura is the one for you. As well as nailing that iconic Klon sound, it faithfully recreates the enclosure and knobs for the authentic Klon look – available in classic gold, silver, or purple for an update on the classic style. Mythos Mjolnir The Soul Food circuit board employs mostly small, surface-mount components, with the exception of several capacitors and the clipping diodes. The latter are silicon in lieu of the Klon's germanium. Still, as Image 2 above shows, the Soul Food's tone profile matches that of the original Klon almost exactly. At heavy settings, I think I hear slightly more compression and gain from the Soul Food, but I'm not always certain. We're quite close to Klon here. But not many people know there is a hidden chamber behind Lincoln's head. The sculptor Gutzon Borglum created an 18-foot door behind the landmark that leads to an open room that is 74 feet long and 35 feet high. Borglum intended to place America's prized possessions in this room. It was supposed to be called the Hall of Records. When you say those things, there's a fringe of society that believe you, that are actually dangerous," Lewis said in her testimony, per NPR. Way Huge's Conspiracy Theory also gets extremely close to the Klon sound. It sometimes sounds a wee bit warmer/darker, but some players may prefer this profile, assuming they ever notice it. It's the least expensive option to include germanium diodes.
