About this deal

There are multiple threads going on around here. I want to see how many users with the Meta Elite Strap with Battery are actually having no issues and who's having issues. META QUEST IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE https://www.oculus.com/quest-2/removable-facial-interface-alert. There are also third-party head straps available, but we haven't tested any yet, so we can't recommend any at this time. Having used the default Quest 2 strap for far too long, I can safely say the Elite Strap with Battery runs laps around the original in comfort and fit. That strap barely holds the headset in place unless you uncomfortably tighten the top strap, usually catching stray hairs in the process. The headset weight shifts sideways if you tilt your head and otherwise presses down on your nose by default.

The Quest 3 Elite Battery Strap is really comfortable to wear, and I’ve spent up to 6-7 hours using my headset in a day without any discomfort at all. The headset stays in place even when playing energetic games such as Thrill of the Fight. The side straps don’t touch my ears and I don’t feel any pressure points even after wearing my Quest 3 for a long time. What I Don’t Like About The Quest 3 Elite Strap With BatteryOne of the main reasons I’ve chosen the official Elite Strap with Battery for my Quest 3 is that the design and materials fit in so well with the rest of the headset. The Elite strap makes the headset look way better and it solves the comfort and battery life problems very nicely. There will undoubtedly be a wide selection of third-party battery straps available before too long, but I doubt whether there will be many with such good aesthetics and build quality. This will charge both the Elite strap with battery and your headset. As long as the Elite strap with battery is plugged into the headset, there's no need to charge them individually. But the Elite Strap accessories aren’t just an improvement over the Quest 2 soft strap, they’re the best strap design the company has made yet on any of its VR headsets, and both feel very well built. It seems there are a large number of users with faulty units (or there is a headset update pending I'm not aware of that fixes this). Who here has it working perfectly fine and what is the behavior you experience? The cable that runs from the battery strap connects to the USB-C port on the left side of the headset, and then there is a separate USB-C charging port on the bottom of the Elite battery strap. You plug your charger into the USB-C port on the Elite Battery Strap and it will then charge both the headset and the external battery. The battery strap is able to provide power to the Quest 3 at least as fast as you are able to drain the battery while using the headset. This means that the battery strap will always drain before the headset, and you will always utilize all of the available charge across the two batteries when using your headset. There are already a number of head straps appearing that do not include a battery, and this is always an option if you feel like comfort is your main concern, or you want to use another external battery solution for your Quest 3. Should You Buy The Quest 3 Elite Strap With Battery

Immerse yourself in virtual worlds with no ill-fitting strap or low power warnings to distract you

Active strap is great the way it connects to the controllers. Attaches to my hand at the perfect spot. Expensive, but worth it. Note: Virtual Desktop developer Guy Godin has reported an early issue with Quest 3 and how it connects over Wi-Fi. For now, it appears the headset has network performance issues with routers running in Wi-Fi 5 (AC) mode. The issue disappears when switching the router to Wi-Fi 6 (AX) or Wi-Fi 6e (AXE) mode. In terms of comfort, I’d say that the Elite Battery Strap has a slight edge over the Elite Strap because the increased weight offers an even better counterweight, making for a more balanced headset overall. Downsides of the Elite Straps Photo by Road to VRA short cable runs along the left side of the Elite Battery Strap which plugs into the side of Quest 2 to feed it power. The underside of the battery portion has its own USB-C charging port, allowing you to plug in your Quest 2 to charge both the extra battery and the headset at the same time. Meta doesn’t prevent other companies from introducing compatible products that compete with their own. Compare that to Apple, who patented their MagSafe magnetic power adapters, didn’t license it to anybody, and even sued a company that bought original Apple power adapters to cut off the MagSafe plug and attach it to a power bank for MacBooks, for patent violation. We’ll soon see if they allow AVP prescription lens inserts from other parties than their partner Zeiss, who will charge USD 300-600 for a pair. Meta plays very fair with the accessories, allowing competition and those that do a little research to get much cheaper alternatives, while providing decent quality for users that prefer to buy original accessories from the HMD manufacturer itself, be it for convenience, quality, service or appearance.

This isn’t a major issue by any means, but it just doesn’t look great on what is a premium first-party accessory. I have tried various options to manage the cable, but I haven’t found a solution that I’m completely happy with yet. The Quest 3 comes with a 19.44Wh battery inside, which is sufficient for about 2 hours of gameplay, but I’ve always found this to be too short, and it does impact my enjoyment when I know my time with the headset is limited. The thing that makes these headstraps great is that they’re the first from Oculus (or really any headset maker so far) that makes it really obvious how to find the right fit. This has been a persistent issue with VR headsets from the start, with many first-time users not adjusting their headstraps correctly, leading to discomfort. The unit was about 50% charged when it arrived, so I put it on to charge for about an hour before using it.Roblox Developer Conference Attendees Receive Free Quest Pros Ahead of Quest 3 Launch Carrying Cases Attach the Elite strap with battery side arms to the arms of the headset.
