About this deal

Both molten and solid forms are combustible and will ignite at high temperatures (>200°C), burning with a pale blue flame that may be difficult to see in daylight. When it ignites Sulphur Dioxide is produced.

The most important form of sulfur for fertilizer is calcium sulfate, commonly found in nature as the mineral gypsum (CaSO 4·2H 2O). Elemental sulfur is hydrophobic (not soluble in water) and cannot be used directly by plants. Elemental sulfur (ES) is sometimes mixed with bentonite to amend depleted soils for crops with high requirement in organo-sulfur. Over time, oxidation abiotic processes with atmospheric oxygen and soil bacteria can oxidize and convert elemental sulfur to soluble derivatives, which can then be used by microorganisms and plants. Brand name(s)This active ingredient was removed from products and the brand names continue to be used I'm little confused as to how safe it is to use a Sulphur Candle. But now its getting very difficult to source sulphur candles as they are now banned for use on plants as a pesticide although interestingly they still can be used as a greenhouse cleaner which is what I use them for.
