About this deal

I’m still on the fence but I would probably prefer They’re Real for everyday wear, and Roller Lash for when I’m getting more done up. It’s actually designed for those with straight and shorter lashes however if you already have long curled lashes, I feel that this will emphasis that even more! I thought the mascara applied well and didn't go everywhere despite it being quite a 'wet' formula if that makes any sense? As you can see from my before/after pictures, it makes such a gorgeous difference and brings out my natural lashes beautifully! my eyelashes are naturally flat and medium to long but when I curl them they will stay curled throughout the day without mascara.

terrible i've used many mascaras in my life and this was one of the worst yet also the most expensive.I found this quite a hard photo to take and it doesn’t really do the curl justice, but I think it gives you a good idea. If you already have curled lashes, and want well separated and longer lashes, They’re Real is the mascara for you.

A tip is that you can layer a base coat of Roller Lash with a second coat of They’re Real to get some real drama but I would recommend dabbing your brush on a tissue for the second coat, otherwise the heaviness of the They’re Real formulation might drag down the curl in your lash that you have just tried to enhance. I curled my lashes manually before I applied the mascara and after applying, it made my lashes droop and straighten. I seriously need a photographer boyfriend or gay BFF or something… One day I’ll get my life together and everything will be perfect, but for now we selfie. On those days where my eyes need a little extra oomph, I’ll definitely be reaching for some added curl power!I must admit, I am blessed with the longest lashes in the world, so they are pretty droopy if I don’t do anything to them. It lasts all day with no flaking or smudging but is easy enough to remove with a good eye make-up remover. I think the fact that Benefit released a free version with Elle magazine before the official release just goes to show how confident they are in this product and how amazingly well it works. The wand has slight curve to it and is packed with plastic bristles/spikes - longer on the top (as you may be able to see) gradually reducing in size towards the underneath - almost like rows and rows of tiny canine teeth! The magic of Benefit Roller Lash Mascara is all in the very new, very special and very different brush – the Hook n Roll brush.

I got mine as a sample with Elle UK magazine and the full size is being release at the end of February. Best mascara Recently switched from the classic They're Real to the Roller Lash mainly because of the extra goodness in the liquid of the mascara + brush shape. The brush is also curved and flexible which makes it easier to get right in to the base of the upper and lower lashes.

This mascara looks right up my alley, I'll definitely be checking it out if/when it comes to Australia. This is more an observation than a complaint though; frankly, I don’t believe any mascara delivers quite the same eyes-wide effect that the extra deployment of an eyelash curler brings! I'm sure you're sick of reading reviews of Benefit's new Roller Lash Mascara (you can get a free sample in this month's Elle, if you didn't already know) so I thought I'd do a comparison with a potential dupe! Please excuse the lower quality and any inconsistences as I was taking these photos just while getting ready. When I first applied this I felt a slight tug on my lashes which is down to the little hooks on the brush which grab even the smallest of lashes.I find with this Roller Lash mascara I have to be really careful not to just repeatedly coat, coat, and keep coating my lashes.
