About this deal

Alizeh, the heir to the Jinn throne, is destined to free her people from the half-lives they’ve been forced to live under human rule. When Kamran, the heir to the human throne, falls in love with her, he’s forced to question everything he’s been taught about Jinn. Alizeh is a long-lost heir to an ancient Jinn kingdom. But she is living her life on the run, hiding in plain sight as a servant girl, sewing clothes for the rich and mopping the floors. When she unexpectantly runs into Kamran, the Crown Prince and heir to Ardunia, their stories suddenly collide. The last sentence is uttered with every bit of irony my voice can conjure, and I enjoy the audience’s laughter for a few more seconds before I continue*

And it’s not just the insane lameness and utter unoriginality of the plot but that the book was lowkey steeped in misogyny. Except for our special self-insert 17-year-old main character ‘Alizeh’, there is not a SINGLE (and I’m not exaggerating here) likeable female character in this book. Except for one girl (who is portrayed as stupid, spoilt, easy to scare and terrify) that Alizeh befriends towards the end of the novel, every woman in this book is downright nasty. The MC doesn’t have any female friends; there are no female role models. Alizeh’s mistresses treat her like garbage, are jealous, frivolous, insensitive, or all three. These Infinite Threads” delves deeper into the richly imagined world of Jinn and humans, examining the complexities of their coexistence as well as the consequences of their fates being intertwined. As Alizeh’s journey progresses, she meets a diverse cast of characters, each with their own motivations and desires, who become essential to her search for truth and freedom. This Woven Kingdom,” the first book in the “This Woven Kingdom” series, introduces readers to a captivating world inspired by Persian mythology. Tahereh Mafi spins a spellbinding epic tale full of romance, intrigue, and high-stakes adventure. The story might be kind of slow for some people at the beginning, though that wasn't the case for me. I was hooked from the very beginning, and hardly wanted to put it down. Everybody and their mothers- go read this!! first of all, hazan did not hazan like hazan hazaned in book 1 so it wasn’t that fun cause in book 1 he was really giving kenji and look i do know i shouldn’t be comparing the two series this is an entirely new series but we need a comedic side relief okay and i did not find that in this bookYou are quite good," his grandfather said coldly, "at taking clear and logical arguments and elevating them to a level so esoteric they are rendered ineffectual."

The fact that this book was promoted as “the explosive first book in an epic, romantic trilogy inspired by Persian mythology” without ever disclosing that it is your basic rags-to-riches Cinderella story, shows the marketing team was very good at their job; meaning: they knew exactly how to sell this as something NEW and ORIGINAL even though we’ve been fed stories like this a hundred times over. Published in 2022, This Woven Kingdom read like a novel that came out and should have been forgotten about in 2012. stars because the world building and Alizeh were phenomenal, but this book was so slow at times and I needed Kamran to step up more. This Woven Kingdom by Tahereh Mafi is the story of Alizeh, a servant girl with a secret. It’s the story of Kamran, the crown prince with prophecies hanging over his head. It’s the story of Jinn, death, love, loss and stepping into who you were born to be. is a good character but when we have Cyrus who would look at him? No, I like him but in my opinion, he should not be the end game. He's unimpressed. He has no chemistry with Alizeh. He could be her best friend. He is an interesting character but not as much as Cyrus. if you want to have any chance of marrying me or just being allowed in my very presence and to breathe the same air as me? WHY AREN'T YOU READING THIS BOOK ALREADY WHY ARE U STILL HERE.Something to keep in mind: I personally think this book (and series) reads more like a high fantasy first, a character study second, and a romance third. There’s a lot more focus on politics, world building, and challenges faced by the characters than there is swoon-worthy romantic moments. That’s okay to me because it is a well-written story, and I enjoy the way Tahereh Mafi describes her worlds and the various characters that inhabit them. I felt like I was right there with Alizeh experiencing Tulan for the first time; Everything felt easy for me to imagine from the beautiful descriptions of the natural environment and magical creatures to the lush prose detailing Alizeh’s feelings. The romance is very slow burn, and the chemistry between the two potential lovers needs some work, but I did enjoy it eventually. So far, I think this series gives us those awesome tropes that we come to expect from YA fantasies but not necessarily that fast-paced action. Ensnared by secrets, Cyrus has ached for Alizeh since she first appeared in his dreams many months ago. Now that he knows those visions were planted by the devil, he can hardly bear to look at her—much less endure her company. But despite their best efforts to despise each other, Alizeh and Cyrus are drawn together over and over with an all-consuming thirst that threatens to destroy them both. Kamran is a sweetheart. I like him. At the end of the book, I felt so sorry for him. I love that he always cared for Alizeh.

And the romance? *Sigh*. My God, the insta-love was heavy in this one. When you have a nightmare/vision about the devil prophesising something you don't want to hear about and then suddenly you're looking at the face of a stranger, would you immediately be taken away by their attractiveness? (I just know some of you might say yes... but you get the point! It's still ridiculous!) In actual fact, the whole thing is ridiculous. They keep describing each other as the sexiest, most beautiful, most handsome person alive etc. etc. and you expect me to believe their love is founded on valid grounds of trust and friendship and genuine, deep connection? A big nope from me. Nothing was compelling about their romance whatsoever. I did not root for them in any way nor do I think that they did each other any good. Aside from the messy plot, the pile upon pile of discarded YA tropes which I thought we had left in the last decade; aside from the flat MC and unfeeling, rather repugnant male love interest, there was the WRITING. Alizeh must conceal her true identity and deal with the difficulties of living in public while carrying the burden of her hidden heritage. As the story progresses, Alizeh and Kamran’s paths cross, triggering a chain of events that will uproot their kingdom and the world as they know it. As a very small thing, there are a couple scenes where he analyzes his attraction to Alizeh, how she is different from all the other girls, and requires education - something basically forbidden to the lower class, which makes him rule out girls from that class - that are less savory. The best thing about this book is the plot. The worst thing about this book is also the plot. I think the general synopsis of what's going on, a Jinn Queen being forced to hide her identity and work as a lowly servant in a world of humans who despise her kind and a King who tries to kill her when he finds out who she is, is very captivating. After reading This Woven Kingdom, I felt a little worried about this sequel but was willing to give it a chance because I love Alizeh’s character (and because I already owned the book). I’m pleasantly surprised that These Infinite Threads was better than expected even though I have a couple of issues with it.

This book was what I needed. No honestly after reading the first book I thought this one would be disappointing too but guys this book was ᴇᴠᴇʀʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ( ͡❛ ₃ ͡❛). And the Oscar for Best Actress in the new exciting drama Managing Not to Throw This Book Repeatedly Against a Wall goes to… Kat!” but sadly, I Can't say I was super INTO the whole story and I'm torn on whether I like this book or not. and believe me, I myself am really upset about it. I think it’s important to mention whether a book is more plot-driven or character-driven. I do think that this one is more character-driven. It’s not a very fast-paced book, and except for the finale, there wasn’t a whole lot of action either. Overall very little happens in this story. The Heroine and Prince are pretty passive and instead of doing things spend lots of time being mundane while telling the reader about the world, the characters and, the problems. I recommend this book to anyone who loves young adult fantasy, great characters and awesome world building.Building on the groundwork laid in the first book, Alizeh finds herself navigating a world fraught with uncertainty and shifting alliances. As the mysteries of her true ancestry begin to unravel, she must face the challenges that come with her newfound power and the weight of her destiny. Omg how can I even explain how much I love this books. I went into this with high expectations just because shatter me is one of my favourite series of all time and I was positively surprised. This has the exact same vibe as letting everyone in House of Gucci speak English… but with an Italian accent because they are Italian, yk? It’s got to be authentic! Same as you can’t let those characters speak either Italian or English without any kind of ridiculous accents, the author couldn’t write about a fantasy world without using over-the-top language that, if read out loud to a 17th-century landlord, would scare the shit out of him. God bless thee, good Sir. okay so first of all, the dagger to throat scene.. ❗️did infact happen ❗️ now whether you call me a professional prophecy person or what 🤭🤭
