Set in the sixteenth century when many amazing artists were achieving renown this historical based on real life figures delves into the world of Renaissance art. He’s responsible not only for himself, but also for his team of young apprentices and assistants, so he urgently needs to find some way of gaining commissions from rich clients.

Together Giorgione and Titian were central figures in the Venetian school of painting, which is characterised by its distinctive use of light and colour. By focusing on the dark side of life in 16th century Venice, Dibben creates plenty of atmosphere, and although the parts of the book that concentrate on Zorzo’s relationship with Sybille interested me less, I found this an enjoyable read overall.

One of the greatest painters, a vital link in the history of art who would have produced stunning masterpieces had he not died at 33, probably of plague. In this episode he takes us back to 1510, an extraordinary moment when some of the most famous works of European art were being created. However it’s also ok if your walls are already painted or are made of gyprock / drywall / plasterboard or plaster. Instead he finds himself caught up in a conspiracy that stretches across Europe and a marriage coming apart inside one of the city's most illustrious palazzos.Damian Dibben's novels have been translated into twenty-seven languages and published in over forty countries.

But, on the other side of this, it is very rich in atmosphere and tone that keeps you wanting to read more as the situation Zorzo finds himself caught up in reaches its climax. The protagonist takes a pensione near the Accademia overlooking Guidecca, situated virtually where the pensione Emily and I once stayed in when we did a three city holiday many years ago! You can paint a lot of different surfaces with Bauwerk Colour Lime Paints, some can be painted with very minimal preparation, some require a few more steps before you can apply our paint. I've not read anything by Damian Dibben before, but this was one of those books that after a few pages, you know you're in the hands of a very accomplished author. Eventually he comes into contact with the wealthy man that owns the pigment and gets a commision to paint his wife, Sybille.JRR: How did you choose ‘prince orient’ as the name for the mysterious highly sought after colour at the centre of ‘The Colour Storm’? Zielony - Nadzieja i Odnowa: Zielony symbolizuje odrodzenie, nadzieję i harmonię z przyrodą, pojawia się w kontekście przyrody i jej uzdrawiającej mocy. Particularly in the middle section as secrets begin to unfold and you are trying to get a sense of Sybille’s true character that is always frustratingly out of reach – even by the end. You get a real sense of his passion for his work and offers an interesting insight into the way in which artists work. Giorgione Barbarelli—known as Zorzo—is a young painter, fired by ambition but on the verge of bankruptcy.

New to me author, Damien Dibben had my attention from the first scene of a prologue that takes place after the events in the story and teases the reader into needing to know what happened. If you are painting natural surfaces such as render or brick our paints are wonderfully durable as they are absorbed into the wall. There are quite a few words in a synopsis where when I see them I just can't resist reading the book and one of those words is Renaissance, especially when it's set in Italy. Damian Dibben is an acclaimed British author whose novels have been translated into twenty-seven languages and published in over forty countries.I loved Leda’s wisdom about the importance of the marks we leave behind and could understand clearly the author’s purpose in sharing Giorgione’s drive to make a mark upon history. Written by an author who has a genuine love for creativity and a deep understanding of what it means to be alive, his characters are richly painted and seductive. Jednym z najbardziej fascynujących aspektów tej książki jest jej zdolność do przenoszenia czytelnika w różne epoki historyczne i miejsca na całym świecie. There were times I wished for more developed characters because a few of the primary ones felt a bit one dimensional.
