About this deal

The Walmart near my workplace has it in 24 can cases, as does usually the Marsh (supermarket) near my home. I like the square container (easier to scrape out with a putty knife or taping knife), but Elmer needs to provide one that seals tight. I usually use the 2 oz tubs, and it takes me a long time to go through it, so when I eventually crack open the 32 oz one, I'll portion it out and make sure I keep it sealed/moist. I’ve also tried a plastic wood for burns in the past……prestain a blob of it, fill the burn and touch up the spot little by little with a Q tip dipped in your stain.

Once dry, the wood filler can be painted, but it is best to match it as close as possible to the rest of the piece. If you leave excess and plan to sand it off that will work too, but you will go through a lot of sandpaper ; ) This filler dries super hard - much moreso than typical wood-fill or vinyl spackle.

Quote from: SRSemenza on July 08, 2016, 10:36 AM I have seen that the gritty texture is one of the complaints in several places. Well, I'm not terribly scientific about it, I just ground up a bunch of balsa scraps using a dremel, and dumped some elmers in.JB Tools provides this disclaimer to ensure there is no likelihood of confusion unduly influencing your decision to purchase this product, or any other, product from JB Tools, and to ensure there is no confusion as to the existence of any affiliation between JB Tools and the manufacturer of this product. For me, the metal of a putty knife wants to pull Timbermate a bit out of the hole if you work it too much, but using a little block of wood right after applying the filler really locks it in and levels the filler fast. Our wood fillers come in a variety of assorted colors or in a stainable formula that allows for easy stain matching. As you sand, you will likely encounter areas of putty that haven't fully cured, so this mix may need to be sanded in stages, depending on how bug of a void you're fillling. Meanwhile, I'll do some tests on the plain "interior only" CWF tube I bought from walmart, to see if it acts like the usual stuff or the nasty "stainable" stuff.

So I sanded down a Boba Fett helmet dome portion too far and the infill was quite visible and you could feel it, so instead of caking on Bondo I got some Elmer's Wood Filler Interior, watered it down and painted it on, fixed that issue wonderfully HOWEVER it is not very hard and I can put cuts in it with just my fingernails, so I'm wondering if anyone's used this before, does it hold primer well, and have I ruined my helmet? If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. As for the product, I have been using it for years and highly recommend it for filling holes in wood and have used it for garage door dings, window rot and decking posts gouges.

Anymore, I've gotten to the point that no matter who it is, I'll post a comment in their "contact us" tab at the bottom of the page if I have a complaint, question or a compliment.
