The DDJ SP1 wonderfully complements tools like the DJM-900SRT, but it could also perform brilliantly with a wide selection of alternative Serato DJ controllers. In single effect mode, the same knobs and buttons control effect on/off, effect amount, and then other varying parameters according to the effect.

After loading a video, press Shift + Auto Loop push encoder to switch a deck to Serato Video control mode. This compact Serato solution is ideal for professional DJs looking to add creativity to their music and live performances.

Shift + Load Prepare scrolls through the special areas of the browser: Files, Browse, Prepare, and History. There’s no license for Serato DJ included, although you can upgrade if you have Serato Scratch Live. Add the DDJ-SP1 to a set-up that supports mixing and scratching with Serato DJ – for example a laptop, or timecode CDJs/turntables with a DJM-900SRT mixer – and use the pre-mapped buttons and dials to trigger 6 samples, 8 Hot Cues and more than 30 FX Powered by iZotope - without the need to touch a keyboard or mouse. In either mode on the DDJ SP1, the encoder included in the tech will adjust the timing of the beat syncing function from 30 values. If you don’t already have Serato Video activated, the DDJ-SP1 includes a license, so you can download and activate it. If you’re a Serato DJ user who doesn’t think their controller provides adequate access to certain performance modes and effects, then the Pioneer DDJ-SP1 could be perfect for you.
