About this deal

There’s also the enthusiast’s favourite the Emisar D4V2 which you can configure however you like – front LEDs, switch LED, body colour etc. Turbo output from Emisar D4V2 (3 x domed Nichia 519A 4500K emitters 3800 lm)

I’ve also measured their colour temperature and accuracy with a spectrometer – if you’re using a torch for longer periods of time the quality of light is also important.Note all beam shots were shot with the exposure fixed and at 5000K colour temperature. Olight Baton 3 Pro: UK: https://www.olightstore.uk/s/4YA99W US: https://www.olightstore.com/s/F9GB34 As the post inside the anodised part is rounded, it won’t just slip on. You need to fully actuate the button to slide the clip on; it isn’t angled like the latch on a door. I measured a colour temperature of 5846K with a very slight green tint that wasn’t really noticeable in most cases and a CRI of 65. Like many high-powered lights, accessing the Turbo mode will cause the T4K to heat up rapidly, so the use of this mode is limited. In addition, while engaged, you must hold the mode button, meaning you can’t just turn on Turbo mode and walk away.

What’s in the box?

Probably the most impressive feature of this torch for its size is its beam profile. It has 250 metres of throw or 15530 candela of intensity. But even with the tight hotspot from that deep smooth reflector, there’s still enough spill for it to be useful as an EDC torch.

The Nitecore T4K can be turned on and work while charging or remain always on using a USB device such as a power bank (Turbo excluded). While that may initially seem like a bad thing, trust me, it’s not. Without this feature, you could seriously burn yourself if this light was left on accidentally.

The Nitecore T4K keyring light has an incredible maximum output of 4000 lumens from the 4 x Cree XP-L2 V6 LEDs and is powered by a built-in, 1000mAh li-ion battery. The flashlight is rechargeable via a USB-C port at the base of the torch and comes with a USB-C to USB charging cable. The torch head got warm to the touch at around 46°C. The moonlight mode I measured at 2 lumens which is a bit bright for a moonlight mode but not too bad. It has a nice design and good build quality and comes with a power bank feature so the USB-C charging port works both ways. Using the power bank function of the Wurkoss TS25

Final thoughts

Here to stay is the simple dual button design with a power button for on and off, and a mode button to cycle through brightness settings. The mode button also doubles as a turbo switch. Whether the light is off or on, holding the mode button gets you instant turbo. With five brightness settings to cover all of your needs the T4K is a must have accessory for any keychain, emergency kit, or outdoor set. USB-C Fast Charging Note: The stated data is measured using the built-in Li-ion battery (1,000mAh) under laboratory conditions. The data may vary in real world use due to different battery usage or environmental conditions. There is also a large, metal belt clip on the flashlight’s side. There is some serious tension in this thing, which I had to really haul on to be able to slide it onto my belt. This clip is meant to stay put. The clip is extra deep so you can attach it to hat brims or bag straps for hands-free use.

Although it is crazy bright, you aren’t going to be using turbo mode very often because it’s designed to only shine for 10 seconds at a time before it turns off automatically. What I like Using the flashlight is easy. Pressing the power button will power the TK4 on in the ultralow mode (or the last used level) and then continued pressing the mode button will cycle to the next brightness levels of low, medium, and high. To use turbo, you hold down the mode button with the flashlight on or off. The flashlight will only remain on for 10 seconds in this mode and the OLED display will show a progress bar counts down the time limit. One of the big selling points of this torch are the 3 high CRI 5000K natural white Nichia 519A LEDs.
