This is a decent whisky. It’s not crazy deep or explosive, but it is warm, tasty and easy to mix with. It’s a basic malt, and I definitely want more out of it, but for being an entry-level malt at 43% it’s nice. Nothing off or unpleasant about it, just light and soft – which isn’t a bad thing at all. We need these on the shelves and in our lineups. Scotland, home of many bogs, has a great natural resource in peat. The initial use for peat in whisky was a practical one. After malting, barley needs to be dried before the next step.
