Her books have sold over 100 million copies worldwide and have been translated into more than 35 languages. But who was the woman behind characters like Peter Rabbit and Squirrel Nutkin?In this insightful event, Potter expert Trudy Lindsay reveals the author's own story, from her childhood sketches of family pets, to her adulthood as a botanist, artist and storyteller. Potter was also a strong advocate for nature, contributing greatly to organisations like Girl Guides, the National Trust and more. In my academic life I was both a Head Teacher and Early Years Advisor. Now retired, I am a Conservation Assistant and Room Guide for the National Trust at Hill Top; which is probably the best known of all the properties owned by Beatrix Potter.
