Professional photographer, Shy Burhan, is proud to announce the release of her full 'Forty' shychetype portraits in 2019. These will be revealed on Friday February 1st 2019, from 7pm at The Holding Space in Saltaire.'Forty', was inspired by Shipley based Shy, turning forty years old in 2018. She set out to document forty participants who themselves were turning forty in 2018, and to convey their 'individualistic truths' through the medium of photography. She documented forty volunteers using conceptual portraiture as her chosen genre. After a hugely successful launch of the first twenty portraits at the Saltaire Festival in September 2018, she was awarded an Arts Council National Lottery Grant to complete the project. This final exhibition will be a culmination of seven months of diligence and research into what it means to be forty years old for this particular contingent of individuals in 2018. Please come and join Shy and her 'models' as they celebrate the final stage of the project. All are welcome. n.b light refreshments will be provided.
